R28 PF
HELP I recently purchased a pair of Klipsch R28PF powered speakers. I have been trying to get them to work with my Denon X4200W AVR with no success. No matter which medium I use the most I get is a occasional scratchy sound. I try to pair them to the Denon and for some reason it will not pair. Could this be an issue.
billybob
Welcome, unless someone comes along soon, would double check your connections. Pull the plug on the Denon for a couple of minutes, reboot. If recently purchased then would make seller aware, and either they or you verify if problem persists. Can also open a ticket with Klipsch support. All I've got atm. Also, reboot speaker... Edited June 12, 2023 by billybob
wuzzzer
Does your Denon allow for a Bluetooth connection for the main pair of speakers? I would suggest connecting the speakers to the L/R pre-amp outputs on the Denon and try that.
R28 PF
WOW! I don’t know if I will have enough space to complete my response. I am in no way a audiophile but I know my way around my system, I think. I have tried everything conceivable to me. Let me start by saying the R28PF’s do pair with my iPhone 14. ( but doesn’t produce sound ) But it will not pair with my Denon X4200. The X4200 is a little dated, released in 2015. With that in mind through much research I found that Klipsch speakers have the aptX Bluetooth capability. ( COULD THIS BE A BLUETOOTH ISSUE? ) The only way that I know that I can confirm or refute this idea is to update my AVR to a more recent one. Why I absolutely love improving my system I don’t want to upgrade only to find that it is a speaker issue. One other problem I had with pairing was with the audyssey app. While I could run the speaker correction I couldn’t pair with the graphics chart that shows what is going on. To add I also tried every preout to see if I could get a connection with no success. I even unplugged every single connection to the pre outs to try and restrict any possible interference. No luck. And like I previously stated I have tried every medium to get something, anything, but again, no luck. A side note: I absolutely enjoy Klipsch speakers and other products but in the booklet that comes with the speakers states emphatically that all you need to do is plug up the RCA cables and you are home free. That couldn’t be any further than the truth.
Peter P.
Sorry if you've already tried some of my suggestions. Do you have a laptop or PC with Bluetooth and/or USB capability? I would try both the wired and wireless connections if so, and see if you still have a problem. Looks like the R28-PF also has a mini-stereo input plug. Can you connect your phone, iPod, whatever, to that input and check the result? Does the Source indicator on the front of the speaker show it's detecting the correct input? Is the remote functioning? As far as the Audyssey app, try contacting them direct or visiting one of the many Audyssey forums. If you've truly tried everything and still out of luck, contact Klipsch HERE. Let us know if you have any success.
