greg928gts
I'd like to know what you think about the sound quality of the Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs Cd's. Are they really that much better? Greg
jt1stcav
I've got both versions of "U2, The Joshua Tree", and the MFSL is by far the best sounding of the two! Dynamics and imaging are greatly improved.
greg928gts
I can't wait to get a couple and try them out. Too bad they're so pricey. Too bad MFSL went out. Too bad all cd's aren't recorded the way the MFSL's are, the price would probably be only minimally higher due to mass production. mike stehr
I have the Tubes first album on MFSL CD. It's better than the original mastering.
fini
Mike, I didn't know you were a Tubes fan! Did you ever see them live? Boy, did they put on a show! Mobile Fidelity used to be headquartered here in Sonoma County. If I knew then what I know now, maybe I could have scored some good deals! Speaking of MFSL, I have a few lp's my brother-in-law wants me to sell on Ebay. A sealed DSOTM, as well as MINT (w/all paperwork/posters, etc) copies of Abbey Road, Fleetwood Mac, and Katy Lied. He took extremely good care of these. I'd deal 'em here, if anyone's interested, or I'll post when they go on Ebay. fini
Strabo
I have 100+ Mofi Cds and can say that they regularly beat the standard releases in imaging, and sound. Mofi gets knocked because they have a tendancy to boost the high freqencies a couple of decibles rather than keep everything flat. They don't seem to do this on every CD so it's kinda hit and miss but even with the bump they still beat the originals. BTW, they are back in business and are making SACD's. You can find them at http://www.mofi.com/ The Patricia Barbers are worth picking up.
