babadono
I added some HEIL AMTs to my 2 way UG Jubes. Only using right now at 5kHz and above. Definitely adds some air. Even with the 402s already having TADs 7

But I would suggest the Heil AMTs be vertically aligned and as close to the K402 as possible to minimize image smearing assuming you want the best imaging possible with this configuration. miketn 🙂

babadono
@mikebse2a3 the AMTs were $250 a pair with mounting kit. I figured what the heck. I have wanted to play with a tweeter to go along with the 2 ways for a long time. I am currently driving with a Crown D75 that's about 45 watts a channel into 4 ohms which the AMTs are. It is fairly easy to exhaust the D75s output while trying to keep up with the Jubes. I need a bigger amp

I can dial in almost any combo with the DMX fixtures and controller.
Gnote
Jubes , Xilica , and DMX .I want to be like you when I grow up ! After I implement and figure out the Xilica's I want to venture into DMX .
Schu
if you dont have dogs, like me, I suggest moving them on axis directly in front of the front beauty panel... You won't get 'smearing' by having them off axis like I do, but there is some small alignment mismatch... though it's fairly insignificant.
Schu
Is that phase coherent diffusion on the front wall or some homemade curved panels?

babadono
@Schu thanks for posting the pics of your tweeters and stands (again). That's about the height mine will be when the stands get here. Starting to look at how to mount them to keep them in vertical alignment as @mikebse2a3 has suggested. Probably need to be above 402 somehow. babadono
Don't know how well the dipole AMTs will do right in front of bass horn.
Gnote
@Schu Don't you have the Celestion axi2050 drivers and are you using the Beyma's with them ?
KT88
Does the AMT1 have to be open at the back @babadono? Or could it also be placed between the bass and the K402 so that it is positioned center center, so to speak, and only protrudes slightly? I have seen 100dB efficiency 1w1/m. So that seems to be enough to hear a difference? A really interesting project. It remains the two-way principle but with a little more "air". Do you hear a change in the spatiality? The staggering of the instruments etc.?
babadono
My limited understanding of the AMT is that it is a dipole radiator and does need to be open to the back. Does not stop one from ignoring that fact and trying it in other ways.

KT88
Do you drive the AMT actively to compensate for the lower efficiency?

babadono
Got these vertically aligned as per @mikebse2a3 's suggestion. Pics to follow. Also now have speaker stands I won't use...way too much money to ship back..rather give'm away as a present.
