HDBRbuilder
Congratulations, Justin! Not only are you accepted into a 4-year institution, but it is your first choice, too! That takes a load of worry off my mind!! On one of your trips up there, you outta zip up US 59 into MO...take in some of the gorgeous scenery of that area in extreme NW AR/SW MO...around the Big Elk River...then hop over to the east and go up old US 71 from Alma, AR on another run...right north of I-40...it has some great scenery too. The way I see it...if you are gonna be making the trip from Houston area to Mizzou, you may as well alternate the route to take in some of the ozark scenery on occasion...time permitting...you may also be interested in AR highway 21 and 23 as they head north towards MO from I-40 in AR...they are famous for scenery...considered two of the best motorcycling roads in the country by many! AR Highway 9...further east in the state...is also a fun route to take! Keep in mind that Columbia, MO is more-or-less centrally located in MO...and is where the rolling river-bottom land of northern MO meets the Ozark area of southern MO...I am kinda partial to the Ozark area, myself! Lowry's restaurants...home of the "throwed rolls" are in more than ONE location now-a-days...three or four of them now I think! Great food and lots of fun ducking "throwed rolls" to other tables!
