JohnA
I never learned tail draggers because of the ground loop problem. Aragon Magic?
RickB
If you use a surge protector that lets you run a cable through it try that. I had the same problem and I ran my dish cable through a Monster Power Center HT700 and the hum completly disappeared.
greg928gts
Try lifting the ground from one of more of the components. Or try plugging all the components, including the subwoofer into one outlet just as a test to see if the humming goes away. You may have one or more components on an outlet that is wired to one side of your electrical panel, and other components on an outlet wired to the other side of your electrical panel. This can cause a ground loop. I was a live sound engineer for years, and we always made sure to wire directly into the electrical system at the club and ran all of the equipment from that same power source. Lighting went on the other side. Greg
djk
"How do I hook up the cable again and not have the humming and buzzing reapear????" Go to Radio Shack, or some other sleazy electronic store. Buy two 300/75 balun transformers and run them back-to-back.
Guest BobG
Using two baluns back to back will interfere with picture quality. Get a Mondial Magic Box (from your Aragon dealer). This will cure the ground loop problem with no degradation in picture quality. It is not the cheapest solution, but it is the best and it doesn't violate electrical code or create potentially dangerous situations as does lifting grounds from the AC. JBryan
My brother-in-law had the same problem. We went to Rad Shack and picked up a ground filter for his cable connection. <$10 and problem solved - couldn't hurt to give it a try. Have fun, Bryan
reactor444
Thanks for all the tips..Hopefully using all your advice I will be able to come up with the right solution..
zandern
I agree with using a monster cable line conditioner. Other people use them and it gets rid of the ground loop hum caused by the cable tv. I just got cable in my appartment and experienced the same problem. I plan on getting the monster cable HTS 3600 as a cure.
avman
i'm sure the mondail magic piece will work, but you should have a surge protector, try that first, and if that does not work, then get the magic piece, it is SURE to solve the problem. av. mark1101
One thing I don't think was mentioned. You cable should be grounded either to your electrical system ground rod outdoors or to the water meter bonding indoors where your electrical system grounds. Either way there should be a cable company interface (F-81 barrel type connection with ground lug) somewhere in your cable line that gounds the shield in the cable. Make sure this is done properly, or at all. Satellite systems included should have the same grounding setup.
