Parrot
I saw an ad for these: 1m String Quartet by Concierto. The ultimate Analog Interconnects .............. $6000.00 I guess this is for a pair, so that makes it only $3000 each.
T2K
Do they come in .5 meter? Keith
jt1stcav
Damn, and I thought shelling out over $230 for a pair of 1 meter Cardas QuadLink-5C interconnects was alot!

But I thought that spending more than 50 bucks was a joke until i heard some home brew from a local stereo store. I am now convinced that the interconnects make a huge if not paramount difference. Until I hear something i will not ;laugh!!! josh
neo33
IMO, expensive ICs may be justifiable for SS but not for tubes. Even with SS, you can only spend so much and the placebo effect takes over.

rowooo
Transparent audio makes some interconnects that run around $20,000 dollars I believe. I know they did at one time anyway.
Colin
Philosophically speaking, the most expensive interconnects are the ones that destroy the sound and enjoyment of the home movie and music reproduction system . Whats $5K on a $50K system just another tweak, thats all!

I notice that a lot of these high-dollar sites do not list their high-dollar prices anywhere. You have to find a review of them elsewhere to find the price. NOSValves
Heck with interconnects I want to be able to afford to even contemplate the purchase of some of these products ! It must be nice LOL!! Craig
Parrot
I didn't say I was buying them. I was just amusing myself.
Tubinhard
No matter what cable you choose, will vary in its resistance, inductance, and capacitance values -- and this WILL have subtle, and sometimes dramatic effects on the overall signature of the system. Solid State or Tube gear -- it doesn't matter. "Expensive" cables have no advantage over a cheaper cable with the same properties.
Parrot
I presume a lot of the high-dollar stuff is for bragging rights. But you gotta wonder how many people would be impressed by someone paying that much for interconnects, as opposed to thinking he was insane. Tubinhard
Just ignorant actually -- and we are all prone to it. Thankfully, most of us don't have that kind of money --
Wardsweb
How about the most expensive speaker cables ever, $23,500 for a pair of 8 foot cables?
Tubinhard
Well, I don't know. There is all of the R&D, and you have to recoup the costs somehow. Maybe it's not so bad after all. Hey, those are pretty -- know where I can pick up a set?
