sheltie dave
I just called the founding member of the Tube Amp of the Month Club, but he is busy and can't talk right now. He's busting a gut trying to sneak those little Oiled Oak Khorns into the house without his wife noticing Way to go, Deano!
bkrop
Dean, what are the neighbors doing out back, ask the Mrs.(Debbie?) to keep an eye out!
3dzapper
Dean, Just hook 'em up to your walkman! Plenty of power there and we want our report! How was the trip to, what was it Terre Haute? Did you do what Dave plans to do on his trip to the Big Easy, hook them up in the back of a Volvo wagon? That'd be a trip! Hurry Up! I'm anxious here and that's not good for my health. Tubinhard
I'm exausted. I will save the tale for tomorrow. Suffice it to say, they are quite beautiful. If they sound half as good as they look, I will be very pleased indeed.
jnorv
For what, 2 weeks?
3dzapper
jnorv. If he's anything like me about a lifetime. When you've reached the pinnacle there is no way to go but down. So you might as well stay and enjoy the view. Dean has about two thousand amps he hasn't heard yet. That will be keeping him busy for a long time. ZAKO
Any one taking bets on how long Dean keeps the Khorns?
sheltie dave
I bet $1,000 they will be in his family's posession for the rest of Dean's natural life. I just pray on my knees every day that Dean's amp rack does not have a front leg support give way, otherwise he will have a tragic demise, buried under 10 to 15 amps of various parentage and topologies
ben.
I predict they will stay, but if I were those crossovers, I'd sleep with one eye open!!
Tom Mobley
I'll guess it depends on whether or not they survive the week or two. Tom

Tubinhard
I might trade off a new Mustang, but you don't buy a Corvette for just a spin around the block. I received first rate service by both JJ and David at Audio Connection. It's amazing how much stuff they have packed into that small place -- and it's all quality. I also bought something else from JJ while I was there. He had two sets of near mint DQ-10s in the warehouse with the Klipschorns, and he hauled them back to the store for me to take a gander. He offered the four to me for $150 each, and well -- that's a no brainer there boys. I'll enjoy working on these over the summer, especially since my system will be DONE. Bill H.
Dean, What is a DQ-10s ? whats it used for????
sfogg
"What is a DQ-10s ?" Dahlquist DQ-10 was a very popular speaker from many years ago. Shaped like the original Quad ESL. I believe they were a five way semi-dipole speaker. Shawn
Audio Flynn
Dean listening to K Horns working on the DQ-10 rebuild is a scene i can visualize. Another DQ-10 project? Does the madness never end? At least you will have a purpose in the passion for the next year.
