glr
I'm looking for recommendations on a new pre-amp/processor. My amps are Adcom with KLF-30's front, KV-4 center and Forte II's as surrounds. I would like to stay under $2,000.

glr
I just bought a GFA 5500 on ebay and I have a GFA 545II and a GFA 2535.
JewishAMerPrince
Gir The new Rotel RSP1068 is a winner at $1700.00 Fully featured, quiet, state of the art processor chip and dacs. It is essentially a RSP 1098 lite. All the controls and features as the 1098, similar sound but no TFT display, yet $1200 less. All surrond modes including PLIIx. A bargain. Guest Anonymous
I use an older pre/pro with my Adcoms GFA 555II ...2003 Yamaha DSP A1 and like the combo very much
glr
By no plasma display, does that mean you have to have it hooked up to a monitor to set it up or make changes in audio/video selections? Currently, I have Adcom GTP-600 with a DDG-1 digital processor.

Frzninvt
The B&K Ref 50 can be had for less than $2K, as can the NAD T163, why not get an Adcom A/V Pre/Pro to go with those Adcom amps I think there top of the line 880 is surely $2K or less then all your stuff would match cosmetically anyway. JewishAMerPrince
I'd be a bit hesitant with the B&K Ref 50. Rumor has it that the unit will soon be discontinued. The Rotel and the Newcastle are brand new entries and are PLIIx equipped. Therefore, they should have a longer half life. JR
Fish
The Rotel 1068 is gonna be hard to beat if you require the latest features and quality sound.I tried a bunch of avr's and a few pre/pros,no luck, the 1068 was the smoothest with my 7's imo. steelie
How extensive is the bass management feture on the Rotel? I could find the specs on Rotel's Web site.

Darren
The Rotel is really hard to beat under $2k. Great sound, current tech, upgradable, easy to hook up... Heard nothing but good about B&K as well.
dkp
"I'd be a bit hesitant with the B&K Ref 50. Rumor has it that the unit will soon be discontinued." If it is discontinued, do you know if they (B&K) will continue to offer software/firmware upgrades for the Ref 50? I wonder if they will have another price drop when it is discontinued...
