Trivia Question

Let me get this right--don't want to misunderstand you on this--

It's a REPUBLICAN trait to be ignorant and PROUD OF IT.

While liberals are EDUCATED and willing to CONSIDER listening to things they aren't familiar with.

Sounds about right to ME, but I'm SHOCKED that you admit it so easily and with such relish . . .

Hello:

Let me put forth a question: if they are Musicians and you have NEVER hear OF them, or HEARD them, how can you say that?

Or have you heard every artist that has made all of the music you enjoy?

I trust Allan's answer, but Spacecowboy has not defined that aspect as being the point that is being searched for.

A closed mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Based on previous recommendations I would not care for that type of music.

Let's put it right - Spacecowboy started the thread. Thus his trivia question and the fact that they are tied together musically means that you won't like them.

My Mother trained at The Eastman School of Music, similar in quality to any other MAJOR School of Music or Conservatory. She received a dual Scholarship on Violin and Viola. Music History, which includes Boogie Woogie, the Blues, Gospel, Plantation singing and jazz are part of our Culteral, American Heritage.

To say that you wouldn't like it may not be as open and shut as you think. Years ago I played the song Honey Pie from the Beatles White Album for my Aunts.

They loved it as it reflected 1920s, 1930s music to them When I told them it was The Beatles, they hated it.

A Rose by any other name.

BTW, I am a liberal and proud of it. I care about my fellow Humans, I served via my local PD to attempt to make some things better.

I am paying more taxes, higher prescription costs, and higher fuel costs. Higher wood costs. Can I blame that on Bush, Clinton - NO. At this point we have more Corporate Greed. As a liberal, I am tired of attack. I registered Republican at age 18 and have not missed an election since. So am I okay now that I state what I am registered as? Or am I a low life for being a Liberal.

Or am I okay because I was the side of Law and Order?

Rather than a flame, we can take this to PM, the appropriate place.

Neo, you are leaving some of those definitions OUT and you know it!

1. Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry.

2. Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.

3. Of, relating to, or characteristic of liberalism.

Liberal Of, designating, or characteristic of a political party founded on or associated with principles of social and political liberalism, especially in Great Britain, Canada, and the United States.

Just trying to be fair, thats all!

"Tolerant of immoral behaviors; Lack of dignity."

Geez, I'm hanging out at the local cat-house and I hear that Neo's talking about me. So I take the lamp shade off my head, slip into my clown shoes and Groucho Marx glasses and come on over here only to find out their talking about: Craig!1.gif

Hi:

As I originally wanted to be an English Instructor, I have many distionaries.

I realize that some by their own choice leave out anything favorable regarding the definition of Liberal.

I also know that the word has been given meaning never intended by those that are not as willing to stance on being Liberal.

In my last post I stated that I am a REGISTERED Republican. There were no hints as to how I vote. But I do state that I want to know what a candidate will do to represent me and my beliefs before I decide. If that means all Democratic, so be it. I do play the game that if the candidate is listed with another Party, I will vote on that line. That's me.

But in another thread, all of the meanings of liberal were given. Not just the negative. Was I full Liberal when I walked a beat?

Did I support the liberal view of Social Security, Volunteers In Service To America (my ex was a member working with the mentally, visually, hearing challenged and those with seizure disorders.) They actually contracted with Xerox, Kodak and others for various jobs.

It is ironic that Liberals are associated with Left Wing, while the others are Right Wing. As a Liberal do you think it mattered if I saw someone stealing, breaking into a building, physical assaults, taking of life?

But because of my beliefs in helping my fellow Human, I am less of a person. Why did go beyond what is needed and become a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist, tie Crime Analysis with Crime Prevention, work with the WNY are for VICTIM'S RIGHTS and compensation?

Spacecowboy, I apologize for all of this. Now I understand why people leave this Forum. One tires of constant barrage of whatever. I come here for Audio, not for politics. In one of my email addresses I have had to block 68 addresses from the same Party wanting money. I received a statement to "renew" my membership in a Party organization. I have never contributed.

The only campaigns I have worked actively for consisted of one retired Captain running for Sheriff, and two people with excellent credentials versus their opponent for a Judge's position.

I am tired of turning an Audio trivia question into an assault. I believe in the First Amendment tempered only by the appropriateness of the comments and whether in this case it is an answer right or wrong to the query posed.

EDIT POST:

In case anyone wonders what this Liberal New Yorker thinks about Family, I posted a review of John Fogerty's new CD in the music section and if you go through my comments on this Forum, you can see how many times I have referred to Members of the Forum as a Family. I was ridiculed for that point, here and when I was a member of the eBay Music Chatboard.

END EDIT
