greg099
I know the ideal is to match all speakers exactly, but budget constraints do not allow. Can I mix RB-75 Left and Rights with the RB-25s and/or RS-25s for rear/side surrounds? Also, will the RC-35 work as a center? I know the RC-7 is best suited, but the Klipsch site lists the RC-35 as a match for the RB-75. Thanks, Greg
Zen Traveler
Welcome to the forum. The RC-7 is the one that best matches the RB-75's as a center and would be the one to get if at all possible. The RC-35 would work if you are on a budget, but alot of information comes out of the center channel. IMO, The others will work quite nicely as surrounds. gibby214
It's all good. I started off exactly as you are talking about. 75's R&L RC35 center and RB25's surround and it was good. I then purchased a 3rd Rb75 for the center and moved the RC35 to rear surrround and that is better yet. Upgrade as funds allow.................... gcoker
Yes it will work. All Klipsch Reference speakers are very similar in their voice characteristics. Now I wouldn't necessarily use their flagship RB-75with say a RX-'10's but using an RC-35 is very close. And the bright side is when you are ready to upgrade place the RC-35 in the back for a 6.1 setup.
Zen Traveler
I would go to your dealer and ask them to hear the RC-7 and the RC-35 with the RB-75's and then make your decision.
greg099
Local dealers here don't actually stock them. After reading through your replies and some serious soul (and bank account) searching, I decided to spend the extra cash and buy an RC-7 Center. This thing is going in a dedicated HT where it will hopefully be entertaining for years. A few hundred more now for the 10 plus years of enjoyment seems a no-brainer, especially after some of the mixed reviews I've been seeing on the RC-35 in general. Thanks! cjgeraci
I agree. Having owned both the RC35 and the RC7 - you made the right choice. Carl.
