  1. These are not the Premiere series. Just the fourth generation of Reference. They look to be roughly 10% higher in price than there replacements. Premiere will be much higher price, I have heard. I have not been to my dealer yet to see if he has them. But I did see some new bookshelves on Ebay a week or two ago. I do not know where they are made? I do know the 3 woofer floorstanders are a notch above the rest in build. Maybe those in the US? others overseas probably. The much lower crossover point is interesting to me. Cant wait to hear. Welcome back to the States.
  2. Bring on the new if it is better. But I'm not changing my signature below till there's a 3way whatever series, when ever it's out, I will wait. So far it's been 2 years. (not bad) In the mean time I will enjoy what I have. However I will try to get some friends to buy the new reference 4's.
  3. Cool. Thanks Guys. My wife won this on a silent auction fundraiser. Supposed to be worth $80 max. Like a 15x15" black marble. Laser engraved with like 13 shades of gray etching. I may upgrade a little bigger if I get a good vibe from it all. Yea I bet Harley Davidson makes a bunch of income off of collectibles and such, That's why they make a stink of it. Plenty of Klipschers out there. I'd buy some Klipsch goods if there was a little better selection. Posters and Signs Oh yea. MORE $$$$$$$$$$$ for you. Plus advertising.
  4. I can't wait to hear. The bigfloorstanders look really deeep. Are the RC-64's rear ported or sealed?
  5. I am getting an etched in marble sign made for my home theater. The fabricator said he can do it if he has permission. He said he is not allowed to do Harley Davidson things etc... I was thinking putting my theater name Big Klipsch Logo oval Dolby digital, DTS ES, THX Ultra II Next question is can I get the digital versions of these, or do they have to be scanned or something? Anyone else attempted a project like this? Adam
  6. ON SCREEN DISPLAY for the menu on an iPOD would be great. I don't believe the 5th generation video iPods will do that. But they do have a A/v out on the headphone jack for pictures and movies etc... Leave that up to Apple next Christmas time the 6th generation iPod. 100GB with OSD. Pioneer Elites new reciever has XM radio and IPod friendly features. I don't know about the OSD though?
  7. Is Live at Budackon only a DVD. I seen it at Sam Goody today. I ended up getting Godsmack "changes" dvd. How does DT's live dvd sound compare to their studio recorded cd's?
  8. Am I really missing something? HOw about the iPod? I understand MP3 is one of the compressed audio files as well as AAC (MPEG 4). iPod literature says that AAC is slightly better than MP3 with the same kbps. Uncompressed audio files such as AIFF and WAV are better sound quality at the expense of storage space. I am by no means an expert. I just got my first digital camera and an iPod about 6 weeks ago. Is there such thing as critical listening with a digital compressed music?
  9. Another try. LInk didn't work for me http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=50819&forumID=73&catID=19&search=1&searchstring=&sessionID={23FFB9CB-483B-4773-A081-035A7636A2C3}
  10. Matt, I've done some flush or soffit mounting speakers myself. I am using RB75's though. I followed about half of the rules when installing mine. When I get the extra time I will do it correctly. Thanks Dr Who for the pic here. http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=50819&forumID=73&catID=19&search=1&searchstring=&sessionID={23FFB9CB-483B-4773-A081-035A7636A2C3} http://www.genelec.com/support/soffit.php Good luck Gib
  11. Hey cmay119 were are almost neighbors. Would have loved to see Sarah in MInneapolis for her afterglow tour. I'd have been there but I had company that weekend. I guess I'll have to settle for Bon Jovi this Friday night. [:$] I hope they play some old stuff. That new song on the radio really sucks. "have a nice day"
  12. Yes Sarah. Surfacing rarely leaves my 5 disc changer. Afterglow CD is in there one out of 3 days. This is my Reference stuff here. I Gotta get the DVD[] It's funny what music I appreciate/listen to now vs. 10 years ago.
  13. You can use your imagination with the gooo...........
  14. My biggest waste of time was Bill Murray's, Rushmore and Lost in Translation. I seen them both in the same week. OMG the humor was dry enough to crack your skin, shrivel your eyes and blister your lips. Bill I just don't get it. Maybe too much gooo from the Stay puft Marshmallow Man.?
  15. Anyone? To me, the remote is a very important part of the package.
  16. How is the range on these things. Been reading some reviews on aftermarket RF remotes that state 150 foot range on specs but are only getting 30 feet range. Adam
  17. Awesome scooter. Make sure to keep the dust out of the projector. I took mine down for a couple weeks while sanding, and till the dust settled. I garbage bag mine even for light dusty projects. If your PJ is anything like mine it sucks some serious air to keep the bulb cool. Great job What color of paint you gonna use?
  18. I've ran across these rude salespeople. Not only in electronics but in clothing and department stores. I really think that I get worse service when I have 3 kids with me. Apparently they don't know what it is like, or they don't want to deal with me and my kids because they got their own mistakes running around at home to deal with.
  19. Looks cool. This just has the IR remote, right. I understand the iFi has the RF remote. Anyone tested the range on the RF remote on the IFi, across the house or out in the garage? gib
  20. Found a pic. They look neater from the top though. $10 current bid http://cgi.ebay.com/5-140-WATT-JVC-SURROUND-SPEAKERS-HOME-THEATER-THM505_W0QQitemZ5817634027QQcategoryZ32861QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. I found my sound dispersion idea yesterday at my local low-fi REX store. JVC stole my idea and got busy making a omni-directional surround speaker. jk Basically it is a surround that should be placed on a end table or something. Single 4" speaker firing upward with a (looks like a round tractrics horn placed about an inch away) Looks like sound is supposed to go through it or flare out around it. Weirdly it said 3 Ohm. All this comes neatly packaged as a Home Theater in a Box. at a whopping $340. I could have made a mint. Back to reality.
  22. Thanks, for the reply. Honestly I have not tried WDST in my house. I did listen to some RS3's before buying my RB25's for surround duty. The RS3's did not have a fair chance because we quick hooked them up as mains and listened to music through them. I realize that is not what they are disigned to do. They sound echoey. I do like to turn on 6 channel stereo for parties I get more sound into the game/bar room. I guess I am looking to get a few more reflections off my surround for movies, but not get the wierd echoey sound with music. Can't I get both? I thought there were switches off/on - dipole/monopole. on some brand x surrounds.
  23. Couldn't a wedge shaped thing be placed between the grille and the horn to disperse sound? In particular I was thinking about the RB or RF style speakers. There is a tennis ball sized area between the throat of the horn and the grille to insert a 50 cent piece of plastic to spray some sound to the sides. It could be completely removable in a few seconds. Totally hidden. No dipole / bipole junk . Am I onto something or is this really whacked. Adam
