Deang
I guess this is the same as the A7? I'm looking for a network schematic for this thing. Anyone have one stuffed in their back pocket? D
Duke Spinner
not even close ... the 846B uses the n800 xover, not the n501 .....
Dylanl
This page has a lot of useful Altec stuff just do not know if it has exactly what you need. The author should know though. http://home.earthlink.net/~jmarkwart/index.html Just don't read about the forbidden fruit for to long or you may never look at those RF7s the same again. scriven
Dean, I don't have a network schematic but my girl friend has a pair. I think she would let me take them apart and get pics if that would help. (You don't suppose they put a schematic inside the cabinet do you?)
Duke Spinner
the Valencia backs don't come off, at least on the "B"
Marvel
A lot of the Altec crossovers are inside of cans. Dean -- Joind the dark side and log onto the Lansing Heritage forums. Ask fot eh schematic for one. I have found them to be really helpful. They don't get upset at all like we do here (NOT). Seriously, try them out: Lansing Heritage site Some of those guys do funny things. They bias the caps in the crossovers, etc. Refinish cabinets. Build them from scratch. Sounds like us, except the parts cost way more. Saw a pic of a Solen cap that looked the size of a soda can. Marvel

ben.
Dean, if they end up taking the N-800F, email me. I've got some you could look over if you want to see them.
djk
The 846B uses the N800K network. Early versions used the rear mount 15" frame 416-8Z and had removable backs, later versions used the 16" frame and were front mounted. HF is 811B+806-8A The model 19 came out in 1976 and replaced the 846B, they had the same component group. The N1201-8A network for the 19 sounds quite a bit better than the 846B network. http://home.earthlink.net/~jmarkwart/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/n1201-8a.pdf

Deang
What Dennis provided earlier is sufficient for what I might need to do. Thanks everyone.
djk
"I think that super crossover is a myth much like Big foot" Are you trying to make fun of the stock factory Altec Model 19 crossover?
Duke Spinner
i think, Dennis, that both DylanL, and myself have been waiting with great expectations, for the G.P.A. 19 Super Xover ... Bill, 'n Todd keep promising a date when it will be availble, .. but tommorrow never comes ....
Dylanl
What do you think of these? They were built as a replacement for the stock crossovers for the 19. I heard them and the difference is great between these and stock.
djk
Very nice parts. I don't like all the screws I see, I use brass escutcheon pins for crossover terminal points.
Deang
If the screws are stainless or brass, should be O.K. Yes? No? O.K., I'll bite. What in the heck is a escutcheon pin?
Duke Spinner
But, Brett ... where are the Pads ...?????
