kenratboy
...the turntable and cartrage are Technics (I can get the models if needed). It has a ground wire on it. We have a POS Rat Shack preamp that sucks BADLY, and we need something decent (need to be $50, my dad is buying it and is cheap ) to get a dozen records onto the computer. What should I look at? Thanks!
Guy Landau
A nice vintage receiver will do the trick. Run the signal through the tape output.
smuttynose
Only 50 LPs? Then hook up to a receiver or amp, unless yours doesn't have a phono input. Otherwise, I can't think of your getting a decent phono pre for $50. You might look at the goodwill or salvation army stores for used equiptment that would have a phono stage in the $50 range! rplace
Can anyone elaborate on this process. I have been toying with the idea of getting LPs into digital format. How hard? How good do they sound for casual listening? What software needed? Thanks!
Piranha
What Guy said. An HK 430 perhaps?
dgb
I use an old reciever to do the trick. Those pre-amps you get with conversion software or from Rat Shack are garbage.
Frzninvt
Ken, go see what Superpawn has in stock. They should have a cheap receiver, use it a week or to and take it back, they have a good return policy. Violah! Free phono preamp.
