toddvj
I googled it. Don't think I've ever heard that one on the radio, others by that band, but not that one.
Jeff Matthews
Okay, we have a Googler who's said he doesn't recall any radio play, plus the fact that nobody has guessed anything about in in well more than 24 hours. Rip!!!!! Try this: When I first met you, didn't realize I can't forget you, for your surprise you introduced me, to my mind And left me wanting, you and your kind
theryugobuddy
Oh yeah--I googled too-- This band had two huge hits several years apart --but this song is obscure-- Please post another challenge with a song that has been played on the radio-- Oh, and welcome to the Forum!!! BTW the band was Golden Earring--they had Radar Love and what was that other song with the cool video?
Jeff Matthews
Yeah, if the challenge is going nowhere, either gotta drop a hint or kill it at some point. You're wrong on mine. Keep trying. Hint: This song is a by a band who briefly had a lead singer who was formerly with Deep Purple. The song is about......... drugs!!!!! w2kj
You'll probably have to drop us a hint to keep the game alive. Great game! I'm glad I found this forum. I'm sorry; I was gone all day.....I just read the thread; but "Candy's Going Bad" on the Moontan album was a hit...in it's day; although today it's considered somewhat obscure. Great album though.....I heard it yesterday on ARFM (internet station); I just had to go immediately and put it in the player! I'll try a stumper later....gotta go do some other stuff this morning. --w2kj [H]
Jeff Matthews
Another hint: Godsmack did a tribute to this band by re-doing this song. Now, Godsmack is getting radio play for their tribute version.
Jeff Matthews
Okay, it was "Sweet Leaf" by Black Sabbath. Try this: A dreamer of pictures I run in the night You see us together, chasing the moonlight If noone gets this one, I'm quitting! theryugobuddy
edit Your song is Decade a few thousand times . How about this : What will you leave us this time Youre only dancing on this earth for a short while And though your dreams may toss and turn you now They will vanish away like your daddys best jeans Denim blue fading up to the sky And though you want them to last forever You know they never will
Jeff Matthews
Buddy..... not Decade. Think spice.
toddvj
I could've gotten Sweet Leaf. Don't know the other one (or is it two?)
Jeff Matthews
This must be the lyrics thread for the teens 'n tweens! Anyone ever heard of "Cinnamon Girl" by Neil Young? Tell me you have never heard that song. I'd better not try any Beatles... This is probably what you young 'uns would call Classic: "In my eyes Indisposed In disguise As no one knows Hides the face Lies the snake"
theryugobuddy
Shoot--I had typed Cinnamon Girl, then edited it out--accidently I had listened to that side of the LP version of Decade a few thousand times--+
theryugobuddy
Is that the Doors? Nope--killer song, though
Jeff Matthews
No, check the hint. I was kidding around about how the youngsters might consider this Classic. It's actually more recent than Classic, but we've all heard it a million times. []
toddvj
It's Black Hole Sun. How 'bout: ...See the men pain their faces and cry Like some girl, it makes you wonder why City life Sure is cool, but it cuts like a knife...
jacksonbart
I had to cheat, would have never had gotten this.
toddvj
Great Song though, huh? More lyrics: City NightsSummer breeze makes you feel alrightNeon-lightsShining brightly make you brain igniteSee the girls with the dresses so tightGive you love, if the price is rightBlack or whiteIn the streets there's no wrong and no rightI won't be around today, so if nobody gets it, someone else can go ahead and post. theryugobuddy
Thanks TJ-- This song was famous for its guitar riff --damn memorable, but not the lyrics-- Fantasy by Aldo Nova-- How about the one I posted before: What will you leave us this time Youre only dancing on this earth for a short while And though your dreams may toss and turn you now They will vanish away like your daddys best jeans Denim blue fading up to the sky And though you want them to last forever You know they never will
