wuzzzer
Wow! Tim Burton has made some weird stuff over the years, but this was great! Johnny Depp was 110% perfect as Willie Wonka. Lots of humor, beautifully designed and colorful scenes. Rent it tonight!!
m00n
Yeah? Right on! I've been wanting to see it for a long time. Heading over to netflix to put it at the top of my queue.

HatTrick66
We had a lot of fun with it last night. Especially when combined with the Chocolate Fountain I found at Costco last week. Our own chocolate waterfall.

It requires at least 3 lbs. of chocolate! It worked well though, and it only cost $40.
HatTrick66
Sorry about that. The picture is huge.

wuzzzer
Someone I know went to a wedding recently that had a chocolate fountain. I have to admit, watching the movie really made me hungry for candy in general! [^]

customsteve01
Sorry not to agree with most of you. I thought it was an ok movie but I am glad I rented it and didn't buy it. Steve
HatTrick66
did you try it with a chocolate fountain?[]
Schurkey
Sorry not to agree with most of you. I thought it was an ok movie but I am glad I rented it and didn't buy it. Steve I'm REALLY glad that I didn't buy it. Yes, Depp is truly excellent, but everything else is lame. My wife claims that the Gene Wilder version (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory???) is better, but I haven't seen that one.
nuclearay
I was actually suprised at the PG rating. Gene Wilder's character was certainly odd (as dictated by the book character Wonka) , but Depp's performance brought flashbacks of "Fear an Loahting"... he was just waaaaay out there at times. dblue
I enjoyed it, but I'll have to say I like the old one better. I like Gene Wilder's more cynical Willy better.
Jeff Matthews
The original was better. Depp was way too far out there. It seems like there was a huge communication gap between his character and the audience. Just could never quite get it. But Depp was fabulous in Pirates of the Carribean!
