Jeff Matthews
Look for the member listing, and look up Craig, who goes by NOSValves. If you sort the member listing by number of posts, he'll be near the top. I think he's knowledgeable in this area.
paul cbc
For a Dynaco stereo 70 running "stock" I like: RCA 7199-no substitutes here, just bite the bullet and get them. They last. JJ E34L-I really like their overall tone: solid bass, great midrange and smooth highs. 5AR4/GZ34-Well a Mullard GZ34 is nice but pricey. I think Craig sez the new Sovtek rectifier is good. If so, I'd go with it as this spot could be spendy after buying the 7199's. Hope this helps, Paul
Marvel
I'm using the SED EL34 in mine, and am quite happy with them. I have a new front end, so that doesn't apply (NOS 6922). I have my original 5AR4, which is still working just fine ( at 35+ years). Bruce
126mhz
I'm using a matched quad of JJ/EL34L and I too think the overall sound is very good. When I figure in price it's outstanding. Regards,
