Chris Elm
Drove up to Nashville yesterday to pick up my new babies. They are in overall good condition with a few knicks here and there. They sound great! These replaced my RF3II's. Managed to fit them both in the backseat of a Passat (not recommended) with a little creativity and a lot of patience and struggle. Thanks for all the advice I found in this site before making the purchase. You folks are great. First order of business... What do I oil these with? Here is a photo... BS Button
Chris, Uh, roll tide. Where, who, how did you get a lead on a pair of Cornwalls in Nashville? BS
Dirk Diggler
I really love the posts bitching about picture sizes. Another idea would be to take the leap into the new millenium. [sn] Oh, congrats on th score. Cornies rock.
colterphoto1
Congrats on the new babies. I had a feeling you'd be buying them and bringing them home. That's quite a step up from RB3's. But keep em, they'll go nice in the den or bedroom. Let us know how the first listening session goes, will ya? CW's are my fave Klipsch speaker ever. That's why I have NINE of them! Chris Elm
BS... I typed in "Klipsch Cornwalls for Sale" in google and on about the ninth or tenth page was a hit for an ad in the Nashville newspaper for them. Got pretty lucky I'd say. BS Button
Chris, Did you have to meet this guy behind a White Castle burger joint? Rigma and I have been watching this guy for some time, if it's him... BS
Chris Elm
not sure if its the same guy. We met at Burger King at the corner of Old Hickory and Gallitin Rd. Then we went to his house for an audition. What do you mean you have been watching him for a while?
BS Button
The guy that we are talking about would never let anybody audition the speakers. And he always said it was too difficult to find his house. It may not be the same guy, but it sure sounds like it. Did he want over $900 to begin with? paul cbc
Chris, Congrats on your Cornwalls! In regards to finish, the factory used Boiled Linseed Oil. Available at most any hardware store. I've used Watco Danish oil on lots of wood and it is super too. Your choice. Enjoy!! Paul
Chris Elm
The ad in the paper said $995 I believe, but that was with an old HK reciever and a 5 disc changer. This guy offered to let me come over for a listen the very first time I talked to him. He let me stay as long as I like, and told me to bring some of my CDs. We met at Burger King and then I followed him back to his house. Name was Ken. Real upfront guy from the beginning. It was a pleasant transaction from the beginning for the most part (a little reluctant/frustrated when asked about condition, serial numbers, etc.).
