jcmusic
Hello guys, I am looking at getting a SET intergrated amp, can someone make some recomendations in the $1500.00 range thanks.
Mark Hardy
If you would tackle a kit, Doc B's new "Paramount" looks like it has a good bang/buck ratio. I have a pair of the lower-end "Paramours" and they're quite nice for the price. Alternatively, consider Ron Welborne's "Direct Reactance Drive" designs: http://www.welbornelabs.com/amps.htm

NOSValves
Hello guys, I am looking at getting a SET intergrated amp, can someone make some recomendations in the $1500.00 range thanks. I told canyonman to ask some SET fans when he wrote me asking about this. I thought you guys would read what he asked [] He wants an "integrated" SET amplifier most likely stereo. I don't think he is wanting to sniff solder but maybe? I suggested a Almarro A318B Craig

edwinr
I don't know whether they are for sale in the US, but the Audio Space AS-300B tube amp is a possibility. It's Chinese sourced and would be somewhere in the $US1500 price range. I only heard it once in a shop. It's got one line input from the rear and one on the front - but is essentially an integrated that could be run as a power amp if the user desired. Don't ask me about sound quality, because I only had a brief listen. I'll try and find a pic. Edit: Here you go...
Daddy Dee
Canyonman, I think Craig has given you a good lead on a SET integrated. There aren't just alot integrated SET selections from which to choose. One other, that I considered a few years ago, but never did hear, was the Orchid 2A3 by Antique Sound Labs. So, it's just info. I don't think I know anyone who owns one. http://www.sonic.net/soundscape/antique/orchid.htm
jcmusic
Daddy Dee, That orchid does not look to bad, it's worth further investigation. Any advise on where to look for some reviews on it?

It is well within your budget when they appear on Audiogon. http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0104/fix.htm Klipsch out http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0104/fix.htm'>
