thebes
http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/ele/180464656.html I've emailed for the model number but don't have it yet. Also can I presume the Citation pre is SS?
thebes
Model number is TD 316 and he wants $85 for it. Worth it ? Oh, and anything special to evaluating a Thorens.
Chicago_Pete
Used to have a TD160 that was pretty sweet. You could only be $85 wrong:)
garymd
Never heard of that model but if you want me to check it out on my lunch break, I'd be happy to. It can't be too far from my office.
Klipschfoot
I found a write up on it: Der TD 316, das Shitzenmodell der 300er Serie, gilt immer noch anals einer der beliebteshitz Thorens-Plattensphincter. Dat bout zumz id up! whell
You'll want to spin it up before you buy it. The spindle should turn w/o any wobble to it. If the platter starts slowly, the table will need a new belt. $85 is a good deal. Its an even better deal if the cartridge is in good shape. Its a fully manual table, and has the classic Thorens fully sprung suspension. garymd
Marty, If you don't want it, I might take a look anyway. I miss having a TT in my upstairs system.
Guy Landau
I'd grab the complete system as the price is a bargain. Spica had made some nice speakers.
thebes
Thanks guys and Guy. Gary if after I've checked it out and get it and like it I may keep it. It would have to beat out the fine B&O table I have downstairs running with the very nice cart Pauln kindly provided me. If not I'll certainly get it over to you or let you try out the other B&O I acquired a whirl. Not at all interested in getting rid of the one Pauln helped me set up. colterphoto1
You might try to contact Scott0527, he seems to be the local turntable guru. btw, I've got a Thorens TD125MKII on the way, so we can tinker at the same time. Michael
