Perfect, i was gonna start

construction on something similar, but now im off to Ikea to get three

of those.[:D].

Check out their site and you will see several sizes. So you may only

need to buy one large one. Unless, you want to space them around the

room or something. Also comes in white, black, beech and birch.

These Ikea shelves are quite nice. I went and got one yesterday. It is packed in three boxes and weighs 280 lbs. It's as easy as a SET amp to put together. Except for eight screws, it's all held together with wooden dowel pins.

Parrot

If I may suggest--What I did was nailed a sheet of very thin partical board on the back and it made it very sturdy, this way your vinyl will not touch the wall when you slide it all the way in as well[:)]

Raptorman,

Thanks. I did fasten it to the wall as Ikea suggests, so it's pretty solid. I'm not worried about the paint and I'm keeping the records flush to the front rather than pushed to the back anyway.

CharlieBoy,

Your three Expedits side by side look great.

With the recent thread slamming Ikea, I think it's worth mentioning again that their record shelf works great. It's stronger and better looking than most particle board furniture, stuff that I generally dislike. If you want something that does the job and is simple to assemble, and you don't want to saw boards and make one yourself, consider the Ikea. I'm seeing no shelf sagging whatsoever.
