ben.
They're pretty nice looking to me. Wasn't someone in the mid-south looking for Khorns? It's in his signature area...

Chicago_Pete
Proud member of the "I like C's club." Who are the other two members? Seriously, great looking 68's, I agree meagain. Wish my 64's looked that good.
meagain
So far, the C Club members are me and Mr. Parrot. Who's with us? Gosh - those are so pretty. I keep staring at them. But I still think a different color/tone to the grill cloth would be better IMO. Not black, brown, tan... but a warm soft goldenish which would pick up the tones in the wood. mungkiman
Those do look nice! The cane may be a flash victim, and could possibly be more golden or even reddish than the picture.
mungkiman
here's the same cane without the flash:
Jon Anderson
Two things caught my eye 1) Model C w/ kickplate. Isn't that unusual? 2) also, notice bass bin fronts with only two pices of bookmatched walnut veneer. Today it takes eight pieces for each front. mungkiman
looks like 4 pieces to me...
garymd
I'm a proud member of the C Club also. I believe Mr. 3D Zapper is as well. Mine don't have the kickplate although I'm thinking of making my own. The problem is matching the veneer. It's a dark mahogany that the original owner had installed to match his furniture so I'd probably just paint it. I'll be in Alexandria sometime next week if anyone needs to buy these for me.[]
mungkiman
do the kickplates do anything, besides cover up chipped veneer? or help prevent veneer from chipping...
Parrot
My Model Cs do not have kickplates. Yes, the kickplates are just to protect the bottom edge. Mine, for example, have tiny bits missing, but a whole lot less than one would expect, since I've moved them here there and everywhere for almost 20 years. meagain
Would these have the wooden horn? And - how does that sound anyway? I wish I had those cabs.

pauln
I think that cane and reddish wood combo with the C styling is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
meagain
Yep... If shipping wasn't expensive or a total mystery to me..... I really want those. Not poop brown looking.
Chicago_Pete
Shipping is a matter of picking up the phone and shelling out $600.
Arky
You're right, it's a matter of how bad someone wants them.
meagain
These were Walnut Raw and it seems someone finished them? Nice. Wonder what stain they used to get them so warm looking.... or, the pic isn't accurate. You can see inside the horn section a darker wood tone,, more brown. Might all be lighting issues. But it makes me want to strip mine down, maybe bleach it, and start over. Though I think bleaching isn't done on Walnut. I like the kick plate addition on these C's. Balances it out for me. Anyone with a Van in Virginia planning a trip to Chicago?
