RickRichardson
I have a pair of 1978 Klipschorns, serial numbers 12S529 and 12S530, which I undersand means they were built in 1978. There is also a "BB" stamped into the back. I would like to know what that means. Thanks.
Groomlakearea51
Are they black lacquer? If so, that's generally what that corresponds to. In the serial number tag, above the s/n. it should say "KC-BB", etc. KC = type C klipschorn (no collar, top flush to bass bin). If not.... where is the stamp; "tailboard", along edge of top, etc? RickRichardson
They are a reddish wood color. In fact, see the photo next to my ID, that is one of the speakers. The serial numbers are stamped into the wood on the back of the speakers, near the top of the bass cabinet and agian on the lower back edge of the tweeter/midrange cabinet that sits on the bass cabinet. The "BB" is stamped into the bass cabinet, right next to the serial number. I will try to add a picture here: Note I put a smaller image in so it will come up quickly. seti
I wish there was a document on the klipsch site that explained serial numbers and options for the heritage line because this question gets asked allot. I know I have asked many many times.
j-malotky
A few years back Andy posted who stamped what initials into the speakers. Those old posts are hard to find.[] JM

The stamped initials on the back of the cabinets are something else.
Tom Mobley
the BB in the pic above isn't related to the serial number or finish. That'll be the intials of the builder, betcha. Andy would probably know who it was.
Tom Mobley
Rick, that pic you posted is a link to a pic out on AA, 1600 x 1200. in deference to the guys still on dialup connections you might try resizing those to 640 x 480 or so, the file is huge and it appears that the Klipsch BBS is not caching it but re-loading it from AA everytime. Very slow.

RickRichardson
Tom, thanks for the suggestion. I just replaced the photo with a smaller, quicker version.
colterphoto1
Tom, thanks for the suggestion. I just replaced the photo with a smaller, quicker version. Thank you. I have consulted with Webmaster re auto-resizing but it is a major programming effort. Michael
