Gilbert
This seller on ebay claims to have a ton of gear he must sell. He/She even states you can go by and check it out (by appointment only): GOOD LUCK
Klipschfoot
For his sake, I hope it is unrelated to any flooding the midwest has seen recently.
jtnfoley
Hmmm..... lots of feedback as a buyer, ZERO feedback as a seller. Most purchases are goofy, non-audio stuff. My inner Robbie The Robot is spinning up on this one...
capo72
I live about 1/2 hour away. I may have to check this out just for curiosity sake. No matter how good the investment, I don't think I could ever convince my wife of it. I have gotten away with far too much already. Daddy Dee
It would indeed be interesting to take a look at the collection. Otherwise, couldn't imagine too many folks being interested in a $5K investment for something sight unseen. This listing sure seems familiar. don't know if it's just dejavu or if it really has been on Ebay before. I'm not familiar with the gear listed. Anyone know what kind of stuff this is? Any reasonable expectation of making money on resale?
capo72
I'm not familiar with the gear listed. Anyone know what kind of stuff this is? Any reasonable expectation of making money on resale? Mostly vintage Marantz Solid State receivers. It's a 200 piece collection. At $5K that's $25 per piece, at $10K $50 per piece. I think you could make you money back and keep more cool stuff than you'll ever need. It would take some work, but I would love to do it. I'm still trying to convince SWMBO. We have some CD's maturing, and i'm trying to convince her that this would be a better investment. She is not biting on my sales pitch yet! colterphoto1
Visions of an elderly Michael come to mind. "I'm old and feeble and can no longer stack a Heresy on top of a Cornwall so must sell all speakers."

j-malotky
If any of you are seriously looking at this, I could try to make appointment head over to verify this auction and let you know how big of a truck you need to rent to get all of this stuff.[] Drop me a PM / email if you are really serious. oldbuckster
The more I think about that stuff, the more I think of a Vintage Stereo Store. That haul of equipment would be more than enough to start a business. Notice more people buying and selling Vintage gear all the time................interesting.....
