TeachJava
I was browsing Craiglist and came across these... It's a bit of a drive for me. What do you think? This is a set of 1956 Klipsch Short Horn Ortho Drive Speakers. Greatpurchase for a collector or a fan of Klipsch. One has the originalsticker dated Sept. 25, 1956 with the original price of $239.00 writtenon the speaker. Model #SU-15, Serial #625. They are in excellent shape. One owner built into a home in the 1950's. They are 36 1/2" high, 24"wide, 14 1/2" in depth. These are rare and difficult to find, especially in such great condition. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ele/442629665.html
CaptnBob
Price may be a bit optimistic, as they are not factory finished, are probably not matched, and at least one may have - judging by the notation on the back - a 12 inch Stentorian woofer. Don't know much about the Stentorian brand, although they look pretty cool in the ads in the 1956 Hi Fidelity magazines. Great name, too. Guest " "
"I was browsing Craiglist and came across these... It's a bit of a drive for me. What do you think?" Pass on them. That crossover network will need some work.

Look what Webster has to say: Main Entry: sten·to·ri·an Pronunciation: \sten-'to?r-e-?n\ Function: adjective Date: 1605 : extremely loud <stentorian tones> synonyms see loud
JohnA
They are on ebay with a BIN if $1200. At least one is kit-built and both may be. They don't "look" like the Shorthorns I've seen that look so elegant. Plus, I only want/need one.
mungkiman
There is good shorthorn info at hifilit.com. The U style shorthorn is Unfinished:
