Wrench722
I have been looking and I can not find it. Here on the forum I read somthing about a clear coat that will not turn yellow. Does anybody know what the name of it is or where the thread/topic is located?

Wrench722
Thanks Jack but my Khorns would look funny. Thanks Bob but it was not in any of that. It was this year that I saw it (2007).
Guest " "
I don't know why, but water based clear coats don't yellow while oil based ones do.
Groomlakearea51
Can't offer any suggestions for water based or polys because I generally use laquer. Here's a good one that I've used for small projects. Theoretically.... This is not supposed to "yellow", and it can be sprayed or brushed. It's been thinned for brushing without leaving streaks. Positive? It's by Watco and their products are very very good. Negative? It's laquer and you have to be careful due to fumes, etc. http://www.woodworker.com:80/cgi-bin/FULLPRES.exe?PARTNUM=952-283&LARGEVIEW=ON Also in the laquer category, Valspar/OPEX has clear semi gloss (#40 sheen) laquer topcoat. It must be thinned and sprayed. It's the same as what the factory uses. It's a special order and laquers cannot be sold in certain states (CA, etc, etc.)
Daddy Dee
polycrylic is a water based finish that Tony Reed put on my LaScalas. Beautiful results.
CAS
It's called Minwax Polycrylic. Supposed to be crystal clear - will not amber.
