triceratops
I guess I'm wondering about the 55M's combined with A's or AA's. Michael says AL-3 is preferred. Does anyone else use AA's with the 55M's and if yes what is your experience? Also is there any issue with using 77M's with A's or AA's? BEC
Lots of people use the type A or AA with the K-55M and K-77M. Also in my testing, I have never found a K55M that had higher output than a K-55V. Bob Crites

BEC
Dean, that is a dual phase plug K-55V. That one is lower, but there aren't many of those. Bob

oldbuckster
Mr. Crites makes good speakers sound better ...... He knows Klipsch Best ...... I liked his Crossovers so much...... I just bought his tweeters too !!
Deang
I think that Klipsch knows Klipsch best. All I know is that just about everytime in the past I've treated those drivers as "basically the same", I've been bit.

meagain
Darn - I missed this thread. Loud/Clear - Which way did you go with this? Regarding the k55 M vs. V - The charts clearly show the M dipping sooner than the V's. I feel this is a big deal. Also, I'm fully convinced the type of network important to that big difference. I hear it. Blatantly.
LoudnClear
I have the ALKs on order from Al. So do you prefer the Ms which dip sooner so that the squawker and tweeter aren't playing together up there between the two? Glad to see you back around here... meagain
Absolutely. I hear that overlap at that particular area. It's been a bad thing for me - big time. And I'm interested in networks that don't overlap also. The concept of overlap doesn't even sound good on paper to me let alone to my ears. I 1,000% prefer AK-3 to AA. And yes, even at low volumes. I fully believe that people who have had issues with harshness, etc. are hearing what I hear and are perhaps sensitive to it and no move to tubes or a great amp can fix that. I feel very passionately about this issue. LOL
