My dad is needing a receiver, and I was going to give him mine and get a new one. thats all. The 706 should be out with the next month, but with the exception of maybe the video processing won't be that much better than the 705. Good luck. But it is still worth checking out thoroughly. I had to force them to swap from the 804 because it was a POS. Edit: Makes more sense now.... Personally, I would enjoy the receiver you have now or ask the company you bought it from if they have a trade-in program where you pay the difference.
