hdgamerdude
I can't find s3s anywhere but someone said they would sell me both their f3s for less then MSP on s3s. So my setup would be C3, f3 front, f3 side, sub 12. would that sound alright or is it better to stick with side/surround speakers?
wuzzzer
You'd have a 100% perfectly timbre matched system - it would sound awesome! The only thing you'll have is more localized sound from them instead of a widely dispersed sound that the S3s would give you. My feeling is that you would enjoy them a lot. hdgamerdude
ok im an audio n00b. is having widely disperse sound better or worse lol? =)
Islander
It's a matter of taste. Do you want a "field of sound" or to be able to tell exactly where a sound came from? For music in particular, identical speakers all the way round are usually considered ideal.
InVeNtOr
my rs-42's help blend the sound between the rf-7 mains and the rb-61 rears. makes you think you are in a "bubble of sound" in your case you have a 5.1 so the s-3's would only create that sound effect if you could have them about 90degrees from you and no higher than 5 feet off the floor. i am with the others, if you can get the f-3's cheaper, then you will be very happy with that set up. rock on! hdgamerdude
ok so I just found out the dude also has a used pair of s3s so I could get the s3s or the f3s for less then what retail s3s would have caused. Someone just tell me what to do!
