  1. I hope you still have your RC-7! I am surprised that the newer RC-64 ll is not a closer match since they went back to the 1.75 tweeter and it's supposed to be better matched to the newer RF-7 lls. The RC-7 is a beast though, I like how it covers down to 45hz.
  2. That's a tough one... The HK3600 vs the UMC... you can't go wrong with either one! I have two UMC's and love them. I do get audio drop outs when watching Direct TV sometimes but it's not that big of a deal. It is just a split second when it happens.
  3. I just went with my buddy a month or so ago to buy the HK3600. I sold him 3 of my 8 RF-7s about a year ago so he uses it to power them and some RB-81 surrounds. We decided on the 3600 because it was the only HK with pre-outs in case he ever wants to add seperate amps. He got it for $499 or so I think. The 3600 sounds awesome! It has more than enough power. He had a Denon before and the bass was very thin and it wasnt musical. Now his system is breathing... very musical with deep bass. I dont have much experience with Yamaha receivers... the one time I heard them was almost 10 years ago at a Tweeter on one of my first RF-7s demo's. The sales rep turned it way up and walked out of the room. I remember it being very, very bright sounding so I've always just assumed all Yamahas are bright with Klipsch, that may not be the case though. That was close to 10 years ago. I'm a huge fan of HK and I think you'll really like the 3600. I will probably pick one up myself just because it's so cheap.
  4. My friend just picked up the 3600 rated at 80 watts a channel and that thing is a beast with RF-7s. No way is it producing only 80 watts, they have always under rated their wattage specs. I'm guessing now they are putting the wattage closer to what they actually are. The weight difference in these new units is interesting though. If it were me I would go HK...
  5. Here is another recommendation for the Squeezebox Touch... love mine!
  6. HK hands down if those are the final two choices...
  7. You're correct, I somehow looked at the wrong spec somewhere on the RF-7's spec sheet. It must just be the photo angle, it makes that other speaker look way bigger than the other one other than just height. It even looks like it has a bigger horn and everything, Pics can play tricks on you!
  8. I can dig it...Then again, if what you are reporting is the new status quo there is Hope (pun intended) for the Palladium and Heritage lines because at that price point I don't imagine folks spend that kind of money without auditioning....Heck y'all are starting to convince me that folks that don't audition is who the New Reference series is geared towards. Not tuff to sell this (new rf-7ii and old rf-7) They sell themselves (Points at rf-7ii) it’s big for a reason! That doesnt look like an RF-7 next to the RF-7 ll. The RF-7 and RF-7 ll are exactly the same except the RF-7 ll is half an inch taller. They are the same width and same depth. That RF-7 ll in this picture is way bigger than the speaker next to it. Those don't even look like 10's in the speaker.
  9. Those RF-7 ll's sound AMAZING coming thru my computer playing on my Chorus lls... wait a minute...
  10. I hated my Denon with my RF-7s. My buddy just went from a Denon to a new Harman Kardon 3600 with his RF-7s and it is night and day. The HK blows it away. I have not heard the higher end Denon like the 4000 series but everything else I have heard has been lacking in bass and not musical at all.
  11. That looks good, I bet it makes it feel more cozy. I'm going to do that this weekend perhaps!
  12. Hey Youthman, what color are your ceilings? I'm looking into painting mine as well.
  13. Here is a link to the specs... http://www.furniturecrate.com/catnapper-top-gun-theater-seating.html Here are the red ones in my house... Edit: Sorry it's a horrible picture, it's from my camera phone.
  14. If you can't find an RC-7 then I would think a RC-64 ll would match pretty well. Watching movies I would think it would still blend and sound very nice...
  15. What brand are they? These Catnappers are the softest, most comfortabke seats I've sat in and I've sat in a lot. My buddy paid almost 5k for 4 theater seats and these are WAY nicer and softer. As far as opening and closing, a 3 year old could close these.
  16. I just picked up 6 Theater Seats from Conn's. These are the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. If you're looking for the best deal you'll probably ever come across, head to Conn's! They are selling these Catnapper Top Gun theater seats for $299 each! Every site I find them on they are selling for $500-$600 each. One site had the MSRP listed as $1299 each. Go sit in them, you don't see these kinds of deals very often! They come in red and black, they are a bonded leather.
  17. I have not heard a Marantz but I have heard great things about them. I have however heard lot's of Denon's and even own one and I can say I do not like Denon at all. Very thin in the bass, not musical from my experience.
  18. The guy I bought one of my pairs of Chorus lls from said the same thing. He said he sold his Cornwalls after buying the Chorus lls. I myself have not had the chance to hear Cornwalls just yet but Chorus lls are amazing speakers.
  19. Yeah that is strange, I have the Panamax 5400ex and tried a trigger out from my UMC and it didnt seem to work. Instead I just held down the on/off button on the Panamax for 2-3 seconds and turned those outlets to always on. I'll experiment with it later.
  20. Those are some awesome prices! I just bought the UMC a few months ago and love it. I have no bugs at all with mine using HDMI connections. At $499 it's a steal! Thinking about getting one for my bedroom!
  21. Yes I love all of my Klipsch speakers! I can't pick a favorite, love the RF-7s, love the Chorus lls, love the Forte's, love the Forte lls, next stop Jubilees! I'm going to bypass the LaScala and Khorn and go straight for the top. Hopefully with the Jubilee I'll never need another pair of speakers!
  22. I'm just looking for a good quality banana plug that isn't super expensive. I know expensive is pretty subjective so I guess under $30 a set for good quality plugs. I don't want a brass plug, I want copper. Brass is only 28% conductivity, copper is 100%.I think I'm leaning towards the Audioquest plugs, they sound very well made.
  23. Thanks guys, going to look over these! Yes 10 gauge is a little overkill but I have 200ft of it so I'm gonna run with it! Hahaha
  24. What gold or silver plated copper banana plugs are you guys using for 10 gauge wire? Everytime I find what looks like a decent one it only supports 18-12 gauge. I have 10 gauge wire, what are you guys using? I'm not looking to spend a ton of money on these either, looking for bang for the buck! Thanks!
