  2. Oh my God, you sell the original James Bond supercars. Aston Martin's are some f_cking sexy beasts. I was at the LA Auto show just a couple days ago, and strangely enough, I didn't see Aston Martin there?
  3. soundpros is pretty awesome as far as I can say. i've purchased 4 units from them (2 monster power units, 1 cd changer, and 1 vcr), all on seperate occasions, and they came packaged like they would if they came direct from the manufacturer. plus, their phone service is excellent and professional, never on lunch breaks.
  4. First off, SVS and Klipsch match like a dream. Next, it depends if you get a "powerered" (built in amp) or "passive" sub, meaning you need to buy an external amp for it (which SVS also sells). Opinions vary big time, but I always went with powered because it was less hassle. I too have the Reference 7 line all around (except the RF-35's I use as the center surrounds) and a PB2+. This combo's greatness I can definitely attest to. With a good sub like SVS, HSU, Klipsch Reference, NHT, Mission Audio, or Velodyne to name a few, you'll suddenly realize the world of sound you've been missing in movies and music. Someone once said that if sound was the icing, the bass is the cake.
  5. Does anybody have a recommendation for the smoothest, not-super-woodsy, best tasting single malt scotch is? Currently, I think Macallan's 18 is the best...but there are lots I know I haven't tried. Pour me one of those if you please, Max
  6. Nice nice very nice. What kinda gear are you running with all this?
  7. 27% off list price is pretty darn good, but no site online is authorized by Klipsch. You can take a risk and save money, but if it's defective or breaks, you're pretty screwed. Where do you live? If you live near a Goodguys, they are very negotiable on prices. Oh, and as for the RB-7's being 80-90% of the RF-7's performance, that's debatable. The RB-7's are damn good though.
  8. I like the Pioneer Elite series with the RF series, but not so much with Yamahas.

You sure you're not on some uppers?
  10. Same situation here, Philmays. I have an HDTV, a seperate HDTV receiver that cost 7-8 bills, and i get about 10 chanels of HDTV, and another 10 more in just digital.
  11. Nicholtl is simply the email address I was given when I signed up for one freshman year in college. Nichol = Nicholas. T = first letter of my middle name. L = Lam, my surname.

Mac 12 rocks is the only drink i ever order at dinner. not to mention keeping a bottle of that at home at all times. Can any of you guys taste the difference between Macallan's 12 and 18 though? Maybe I'm just not seasoned enough yet...
  13. I have the monster cable interlink and the bettercables silverserpent. I can't tell the difference.
  14. I dunno but your name plus your icon are way cool. It reminds me of a classical pianist. Would you happen to be one?

While I can hit about 154.2dB, I'd say the frequency response only extends to about 28hz. I listen to alot of music in my car, as well as at home and I can say that after extensive listening to the same cd's, the subs in the car SUCK. Certain passages are overly boomy, and the upper LFE frequencies sound terrible. It is nowhere near as smooth or deep as my SVS PB2+. Oh, and most subs for autos are 4ohms. ---------------- A flat in car reponse is usually achieved with a sealed enclosure. What kind of enclosure are those Eclipse subs in? You can see I have fairly flat response and good extension with 3 MTX Blue Thunder 10's in a 2.8ft^3 sealed enclousure with good extension in the trunk of my sedan. My front speakers start to drop off ~70hz. ---------------- Yes, my dual 15's are in a sealed box...unfortunately I have no pics of the inside of my truck, just the outside but since it's irrelevant to this thread I didn't post it. All my point was, was that it's pretty safe to say that most (not all) of our auto systems cannot compare to our home systems. I, for one, spent about 6 times more on the HT system that I did for the car.
  17. I don't think ANY SVS sub could disappoint, even if you wanted it to.
  18. Yeah, I own the ipod as well and it is without question the king of mp3 players. only problem is that it has no AM/FM tuner.
  19. Definately Matrix, Momento, Requiem For A Dream, and Fight Club. I'd also add two not so mainstream movies that most probably haven't seen: Boys Don't Cry (where Hilary Swank dresses up as a guy) and L.I.E. (where Brian Cox is a gay pedophile but it's so much more than that).
  20. Damn, those do look pretty tight. One suggestion on the monster thing though - their twist n' crimp banana plugs aren't as good as their "quick lock" ones, where they plug splits in two, and you fold the copper wire over these gold teeth, then screw the top half of the plug over it which really secures the wire nice and tight. But I don't think you could go wrong with those Ebay ones either.
  21. Hmm, that might be an idea to consider. The subs are party controlled by the Alpine IVA-C800 LCD head unit I have, which is kinda acting like a HT receiver as it electronically cuts off my LFE frequencies above 100hz (as high as it will allow). I also have the Audiocontrol Three.1 EQ, which only has a gain control and frequency sweep. I have the sweep set to it's max - 120hz, which I guess is the same as what people do to their HT subs if there is no bypass feature. It's not that the Eclipses' sound terrible...it's just that compared to my gear at home, they are not nearly as pleasant to listen to. What's pretty amazing too, is that I also have 4 Boston Acoustics Pro Series 6.5 components in my SUV which run off the Xtant 604dx (75 watts x 4) and they seem to have no problem keeping up with the subs, even at earthshaking levels. They definately distort though...to bad we can't throw some FAT A$$ HT amps in our cars huh? ... but then, we'd be cooking like a microwave in there.
