  1. Amen, I have a complaint about the server. I ordered tea and they brought me pepsi. I ordered my steak rare and it was medium. It took forever to get the check and the tip was already added in. DAMN THE SERVER....DAMN THE SERVER By the way...what did Klipsch have to do with that? I'm lost
  2. great decision as long as your happy. I sometimes look at the size of my equiptment and think it's crazy....
  3. I'm not sure if this unit is out yet. For some reason I thought it was being released in November but I may have that confused with a Yamaha product I'm interested in. I have the 2900 which is absolutely awsome. I would imagine for $1,000 more the 5900 better walk on water.

  5. I had the same problem with my TX-DS 797. When connecting the EQ you do not need to use the "record" connections. Simply use the other two "R" & "L" and connect between your Onkyo and EQ. This is what I do on my second system and it sound great.
  6. I second Marksdad comment. You have a great set-up, however, your weak link is your main speakers. Your RB-5II's are awsome speakers and would be perfect at the surround position.
  7. TO ME, the front effects are a waste of time. I only use Neo:6 and Dolby Digital and 8 channel stereo. In 8 channel stereo I cannot really tell they are there. It was a waste of my money. At first I thought the 25 watts per channel was the problem so I put a 100 watt external amp to those speakers and still could not tell a real difference. I currently have disconnected them as the wife thought the system became a bit cluttered with those extra speakers. I would rather them concentrate on 7.1 instead.
  8. I replaced (bedroom system now) an Onkyo TXDS797 with an outboard 150 watt 5 channel amp with this unit and it plays much better. I paid $1,150 for mine and I feel like I got a steal! JUST WANT 7.1
  9. What a great combo!!! I rarely crank over -40DB anymore (Wife will not let me). IMO Klipsch and Yamaha make a great pair. I am so impressed with the RX-V3300's power supplies. I don't think I have ever heard cleaner power in a AV reciever in my life. The only thing I do not like is the 6.1 set-up. The new RXZ9 addresses this issue and is supposed to be the best AV reciever on the market when released in a few weeks. AVMAN, What about the RXZ9?
  10. I know it's a pain, but you should try moving the sub around as much as possible. I think you will be amazed with the performance characteristics in different locations. For instance, I had a KSW-12 and traded up to a KSW-15. The 12" sub wasn't shabby at all and I very much enjoyed it. When I decided to place a rear sub in my system I imediatly thought of adding the KSW-12 in the mix. The area for this sub was specific and could not be moved. I was highly disapointed in the KSW-12's performance and took it back for a B & W ASW 1000 which is absolutely awsome there. My lesson learned is that there is a product for every location
  11. I bi-wire with Kimber Kable. I probabaly spent about $1,000 on speaker cable runs and could tell a difference between bi-wired 8TC product and 14 or 16 guage stuff I had on the system. I connected one speaker with the Kimber and left the old stuff on the other speaker. When my wife came home I commented that I thought the speakers sounded different for "some reason". She had no idea that I had changed speaker wire to one speaker. After careful listening she commented that one speaker sounded "clearer" than the other and I better take the reciever in for warranty work. I then told her what I had done. I did this because I I could tell a difference but felt I might not be subjective enough to truthfully tell the difference. After all, I had just spent a "butt load" of money on cables that would sound better. If I had to do it over again I might have tried bi-wiring with regular 12 guage speaker cable and pocketed the difference.
  12. I have a pair of KLF-20's that are 3-way, and a pair of RF-7's that are 2-way. While the 20's seem to be more "full ranging" in the mid's the 7's seem more "open" and deeper with a overall better sound stage. I prefer the 2-way design of Klipsch to their 3-way design. I cannot beilive someone thinks the 7's do not have bass punch. I too questioned them at first which is why I purched the KLF-20's over the RF-7's in the begining.
  13. My dealer sales Yamaha product and advised me to stay away from their subs. I simply love their line of AV revievers, but I think for the money you would do far better with the above recomended choices or even a discontinued KSW sub for half that price.
  14. 13....and I thought I was enjoying my system.
  15. The RC-7 is absolutely the way to go. IMHO I think the RC-3II is a waste of time after listening to the RC-7 and even other brands. The RC3II is thin and hollow sounding. Unfortunantly I have one in my second system and would like to get rid of it. I'm still trying to firure out what to do with the second system as it is made from the reject in my main system.
  16. The 2900 is an amazing player. On paper the 2200 looks really close but is probabally not the player the 2900 is. I am already thinking about the 5900.

    rf3ii to rf7

Ric, I did not reply to your first thread. However I think you made a very wise choice. I went from an Onkyo to a Yamaha for my main system. Since the Yamaha only supports 6.1 I purchased a single RC-7 to replace my two RF-3II's for the rear speaker. I have only been dissapointed with the results. I like the Yamaha product so well that I am going to tolorate this, at best. However when the new Yamaha coes out that supports 7.1 you better believe the RF-3II's are back!!! I think you are using yours as surrounds though. One great thing about them at that posistion is when you get DVD-A or SACD (you may already have it)those speakers will really be an asset.
  18. In my second system I have RF-3II's and I think the bass is incredable. I have them powered with an AMC 150 watt amp. In many respects I think they are tighter than my RF-7's.
  19. I have the chance to purchase on for $250. Are these decent subs? I think it is a 10" or 12" sub.
  20. Good sized room....the question is what is your budget? If members knew that, then they can help.
  21. What do you mean the wives will not allow it? That's not who you would market a sub like this to... If it doesn't work out you have only spent a little on R & D (I hardly think producing 1 is a real effort)...if it does then HOLY MOLY, you may have one of the very best subs in the market. I think Klipsch could use that type of positive PR and word of mouth.
  22. OK, I'm saw an M & K (such a thing?) or B & K sub at a flea market in Raleigh NC. It has great sound and was paired with some nice yamaha equiptment. He was selling each item seperatly and had $250 marked on the sub. By the size of the box I would say it was a 10" or 12" sub. My question is, on my Yamaha reciever I have two sub outs that I use on a front sub and rear sub. If I were to purchase this sub how would I split the signal to create two front subs and a rear sub? Will splitting a sub out degridate the signal? Perhaps I should just forget it all and be happy with two.
