  1. I just got two bugle boy 12ax7 tubes and was wondering which sockets are for the extra and tuner inputs and which two are for the phono? I can't remember and wanted to try out these tubes everyone seems to love. Also has anyone ever heard of using Stabilant 22A on the electrical connections of your system. It's some sort of electrical contact enhanser?
  2. Do you guys have the steppin out four disc from london in 72'??
  3. Gary I'm jealous all I got were the three Gene Pitneys. On a better note I picked up two new Tony Rice cds. They'll be on the way Tom
  4. Smilin My mother died of cancer in 1992. She never told my brother or I how far advanced it was and as a result we thought everything was going to be okay. Maybe the only thing I regret is the fact that I didn't spend enough time with her until we finally realized how bad it was. If I was you I would put everything you can on hold for a while and spend as much time with her as you possibly can. I would give anything to spend more time with her, but no matter what I will never be able to. Needless to say I feel for you and my thoughts are with you.
  5. Allan Just curious as to how many lps you have. You must have thousands. Thanks again for the information as usual Tom
  6. Just listened to it, it sounded good to me!
  7. I bought a used cd today, Joe Henderson Our Thing. I didn't pay much attention to the jacket until I got home. When I opened it the liner notes are all in Japanese. It's Blue Note ST-84452, does anyone know anything about the Japanese Blue Notes. Thanks
  8. I think if Allan stays away I'll save money, I can't figure out how much I've spent on Jazz since I've been on this forum. Money well spent I must say.
  9. Has anyone ever used a Sota Sapphire turntable? If so what do you think the value of a used one would be?
  10. My first car was an 1977 Buick Riviera With a 403 engine. It had an eight track tape and cb radio. I thought that was the cats a** at the time. My brother totaled it when I was in college. It was replaced by a 1981 VW rabbit diesel.
  11. Allan What do you think of Blanton's I know it's not 129 proof, but it is mighty tasty. I also know I could tell the difference between that and four queens!
  12. I think a couple of guys, me included, from Western Pa are going. It's one of most diverse line ups of music going. From The Dead to Ani Difranco. Pretty Cool
  13. Why are you selling, did you get something different??
  14. I bought two blue note cds this weekend Freddie Hubbard's Open Sesame and Andrew Hill's Point of Departure. I Enjoyed both of these recordings and wondered if anyone could recommend any other ones by these two artists? One Mint Julep on Open Sesame is incredible.
  15. I would have to say that pollution is far worse in most third world countries, due mostly to far less restrictive environmental laws.
  16. Thanks for the imput guys. The guy wants 200 for the turntable and I think that's way too steep for it no matter how good of shape it's in.
  17. Anyone know about B&O Beogram turntables? For example are they worth buying and do they last?
  18. Max Now for the most important question, are you going to ban your good friend from you house for excessive copulation
  19. Does distilled water work with j-e-l-l-o, or is polar water best?
  20. Wow I thought Bi-spooning was the title of a course in college called sexual and devient behavior. I wonder if cryo-treating a two headed spoon costs more, wait a minute I'm sure it does. DO you think Pudding made in a tube output electric stove tastes better than gas or the new solid state electric stove?
  21. Have you tried the new cryo-pudding set. A spoon and metal bowl sent up on the shuttle for a couple of weeks, 15,000, but it even makes pre-packaged pudding cups taste like grandma's homemade tapioca.
  22. All I wanted to do was verify that if you email Ryan you could probably meet him and drop off and amp because I have done it. The other comment was a general one based on the fact that there has been a bunch of negativity on this site and I find it humorous most of the time, but it does make it harder and harder to find audio information. I personally don't know if Ryan has a shop or not, like I said I met him at his house. All I know and what really should be important to people is that I was satisfied with his work. This is an audio forum, not a meeting of the joint chiefs of staff. I know you both make money off this site with references and other things, and there certainly isn't anything wrong with it, but I think it adds to the tension. My comment was only intended to verify that Ryan responds to emails about getting work done, nothing more nothing less.
  23. Pitt number three, St. Joe's number one. That's quite a joke. At least MD was ranked four Gary. I guess that's why it's called march madness!
