  1. ilounge.com, am i in trouble? http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=743819#post743819
  2. I talked my parents into buying some RVX-54's upgrading from bose lifestyle... (I cant wait to see the reactions after they watch their first movie) anyway, as many of you know good guys is going under so the 54's are below 600 bucks! They want black and I need a subwoofer to match. YES Klipsch recommends the RW-12. My roommate has that subwoofer and its impressive. About as much output as my old SVS PB12-isd, but Im not sure I want that sub. Here is the deal, The room is very small, so these speakers are already overkill. I hope the 54's can image around 7 feet. (prays) This system is strictly for HT. Should I get another RW-12, a Sub-12 which doest really match the black/goal trim idea but has wicked output, or an another SVS, HSU, Outlaw or other brand with no discounts like the I can get on the Klipsch. Or should I try and get an RWS-12? If I try and spring for the RSW, what price makes it a higher value than say an SVS of equal performance? Anyway, Im talking like im going to buy this shit, its not me, its for my parents and I dont even live with them so I dont get to enjoy it, but I want them to have a nice system. Also, is the denon 2805 a good match for this whole deal? The rest of the system is gonna be RSX-4's and an RVX-42
  3. Bought 3. 1 for another room in the house, 2 as gifts. Thanks amy!
  4. HOLY SHIT! im gonan buy a second set now! HAHA these are all the idiots who sent the systems back because the remote battery was dead! I think ill just buy that and use my rsx-5's and sell off the 3's damn, how can you go wrong at that price?
  5. nice mini review. certainly bigger speakers are better, but for the size, the rsx-3's are tuff to beat. The soundcard issue goes for all speaker systems, not just the ifi's. The ifi's sound great on my revo and it can even be at max volume only because its a good soundcard. But you have to be careful not to blow the input stage, so like you said 40% volume is fine, and i would say no more than 70-80% for any card unless its a real pos and has no output like an iMac. I had a really hard time getting any decent volume from an imac. I had iTunes at max, the main volume at max, and the iFi's at max and for any mp3 lesst han 160kbps, I had only modest volume. I blame the mac and itunes for that crap! I dont use either at home.
  6. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Its hard because virtually no one goes in here wanting an ipod sound system, but I managed to sell a pair to ironically someone returning z5500's who wanted a 2.1 system opposed to 5.1 (did not like rear speakers), and did not even own an ipod. Also, top that with the one day we actually had the system not hooked up! He was sold on the quality of the sats and I convinced him this would be a much higher quality system with better sound. And it is undoubtedly just that. He may decide to get an ipod layer, but I could care less, I hate ipods and I own the ifi's too, lol. Question to Amy, can the ifi remote be programmed into a universal remote? This was a big criteria for him and I thought it could, but was not sure.
  7. the sd is a peice of shit, i have no idea why iloung rated the sd over teh if which is more money. I Thinkthe sounddock is horrible and sounds bad even at low volume.
  8. it wont have the bass reponse of the 25, but it might be a little better for dialog.
  9. A little bit biased here, for a man who has never even heard this subwoofer. That thing is less than a PC-ultra and style of Servo Sig. Huge driver, 1000 watt amp, it cant be all bad for that price.
  10. I would be careful with words like "Little pricy...but good." That seems to be the #1 justification for a bose purchase.
  11. I have now painstakingly removed the dust! I had to construct a new la scala from scratch, then forge a room which mimicked the one on the Klipsch website, set up the correctly lighting and and angle. My picture its nearly identical, but I managed to Windex the speaker before I took the picture!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I spent a lot of time doing that so Klipsch, you may now use my dust free la scala on your website free of charge! http://www.bpbackup.com/nodust.bmp http://www.bpbackup.com/nodust.bmp'> I will take a while to dl bceause its a bmp. (lossless format =p)
  12. Got the Klipsch Igroove today... <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Preface: I was looking for something to have in the bedroom for misc. music listening. I did not have very high requirements. Impressions: The design is sheek. Very modern lines and materials. It is very stable. The iPod slides in effortlessly. My music library consists of anything from Dave Matthews to Deftones to Jazz, ect... The highs where good to acceptable. The lows were not good with audible vibrations as bass. The overall music experiance is fair. The remote works well. It would be best to have the EQ preset for all of your songs. I am considering returning is for the Altec Lansing. Unfortunately, it does one thing really well, look good in my bedroom with my U2 iPod cradled in it's arms. Later on in another post Update: Within 5 hours of owning, I returned them and got the ALtec IM7. This setup is much much better. In comparison, the ALtec makes the Klipsch Igroove sound like an alarm clock radio. I'm very happy with the IM7 and the remote is alot more functional with true ability to increase/decrease treble and bass. Well built and you have the ability to take it with you outside or camping. I have to agree, the igroove does not best the im7 at all, and since its more money, it doest hold good value. The im7 is GROSSLY overpriced for what you get and for someone to admit that its a lot better than the more expensive igroove should be a wakeup call! common, the pm 2.0's are better speakers and are only 99 bucks! Why is the igroove a dime more? Klipsch, you should have done something more substantial with the igroove, its not like it even has to run on batteries like the im7. You should have kicked it *** with some 4 or 5" woofers and a big amp. I mean for 270 bucks, you could have done a lot more than just two 2.5" midrange drivers. This was very unklipsch like. I have always felt Klipsch has high value, but not in this case. Stop trying to pull a bose! You guys know I love klispch so I hope this helps in some way in the future. I have my fingers crosses for the iJam!
  13. http://www.av123.com/products_product.php?section=subwoofers&product=8.1 it certainly looks good.
  14. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcmcat66200050002&type=category They have a picture of RVX-42's, buyt they dont even sell klipsch reference stuff there, not even in magnolia. haha I think someone was looking for the SLX's (which they do sell) but goofed up on klipsch.com
  15. someone reported the sounddock not working with the video, this is why i asked.
  16. There is a big difference, pm sound compressed and lack detail next to the rsx-3's. They rsx-3's also extend a lot deeper than pm's due to the rear port and larger driver.

    Quake 4

the dm in hl2 was a let down for me. hl1 dm was awesome and imo the best dm game once you figured out how to play it. im not gonna play quake anymore, i cant affor da new pc and the compititon is too tuff being that quake is the SAME freaking game as it was 8 years ago. Its like i have an 8 year disadvantage. oh well...
  19. how much is shipping to San Diego?
  20. I found hooking up the iFi to the iMac sucks. The iMac has a really low quality soundcard for some reason. The ipod's are not much better and i can also hear much distortion esps. with low quality mp3's. Some of my co-works and said "wow thse speakers are not that great" when in fact it has nothing to do with the speakers and everything to do with the DAC and the Sound file. Its really hard to get everything set up right and even in my store i can't do it unless I take the iFi's off the iMac and put them on a PC after I install an audigy which no one would allow. I have managed to transfer some of my higher quality mp3's to the iMac but they are offset by the low quality DAC.
  21. Are you kidding? I use RSX-5's for my computer!
  22. Turn the EQ off and use high bitrates. I will also admit, that high end soundcards make the iFi sound even better. I can clearly hear the disadvantage in an ipod DAC.
  23. gg double post, i thought they fixed that with the new forum software...grrrrrrr
