  1. Wow, that is indeed a long, yet beautiful journey towards the holy grail! Why this type of arm? Transrotor and VPI also have great upgrade options, although VPI is a bit too expensive in Europe... As is Klipsch! Why these questions? Among other things one of my next gadgets will have to be a TT. Greetings, live long and prosper (towards the holy grail). Tim
  2. Yes indeed, I do think the blueberry is outstanding. Yet I may be able to buy the errata for less than $1500.- here in Holland. The Blueberry will be more than $500.- extra with shipping and all that, maybe even more. In other words, I don't know what to do yet. I haven't even made up my mind which element I'll be using with the pre, so I can't even tell Mark which cream option I will desire. So while I'm taking my time... I can have flings with other pre's can't I . Even though I will not decide in the very near future, it is nice to get some info on a pretty pre I had never heard of before. Thanks, Tim.
  3. Thanks Bryan, interesting. Do you think this amp will also be a nice match with pp mono amps? How would you describe (or anyone else offcourse) the difference in character compared to other wellknown pre amps? For instance the blueberry/peach, which is as I've heard a great pre (especially for the money), or if you haven't heard that one, maybe guess, looking at the different set-up. I understand it is only a line-stage, are there special phonostages that match with this amp? Oh, why do you have two? One more thing, if I find an American version, is it possible to make it compatible to 220V? I know many questions, I could also ask Fred, but maybe you (as I said: or anyone else)know some answers. Any other relevant input on this beauty is appreciated.(I think I fell in love. sighhhh.....) Tim.
  4. No it is not a good idea to put your amp on you Klipschhorn. But... I once placed a pair of Khorns on top of a pair of MC30's. I have never heard power amps so dead silent while cranked up to full volume. We all know how hard it is to get an amp silent on highly sensitive speakers as Klipsch heritage. (If you really try this at home, please know that in Holland you can't sue people for stuff like this )
  5. Anyone has any experience with this beauty? Bit too pricy . Are these tubes still available NOS? http://www.tubeworld.com/erato.html

I live in the Netherlands, so I'm talking $500.- for shipping Heresy's from Canada. If anyone decides to come and live in Holland after a disapointing election, also fit in 2 khorns and I'll take you to dinner and show you around
  7. I would say Heresy's, if you insist with the help of a sub. Sorry to act a little nasty. You know how much I paid to ship a pair of Heresy's from Canada? You know how much I would give to get a pair of Cornwalls? Or better La's, Beles or K's? Tim
  8. I'd pay that for them ... Delivered to my front door in Holland that is
  9. don't even reply! run! have a look or be sorry!
  10. Usually the headphone amp is connected to an output of the receiver, for instance the tape out, normally used to transfer signal from a source to the tapedeck to make recordings. Take a look at headwize.com. Tim.
  11. Thanks Allan, funny cover that first one. Is that an OJC, is it still in print? Will keep these in mind. Tim.
  12. I guess it was not relevant. how weard that a posting about some unique sales can turn into what it did. no accusations ( I really don't know how to spell that). I really enjoyed reading the other postings. Good night, Tim.
  13. If it's still relevant. The Mobley album sold for app. $2500.- and the French one for around $2000.-. If I recollect right, I lost the thread.
  14. ehhhh.... Just wanted to show some possibly sensational sales. Of course without any judging and see what happens! You scoundrels!!

  17. If you have the corners and the money... Do it! Think of this; In Holland they are more than twice as expensive! And shipping them is also out of the question. . Do it and never look back. Anyone have some room in his handluggage coming to Amsterdam?
  18. Saw Steve Winwood in Amsterdam. Awwwwwwsome! I never thought he is still that good! The sound was great, only a few bands can pull that really great sound of. Others that have done that recently: ZZtop, The Tragically Hip, Roger McGuinn, Emmylou Harris to name a few. Greetings, Tim.
  19. Got high on whisky, weed and music (Mobley, ZZtop, Traffic and Miles Davis' Live Evil). Now I just got back (it's 14.00hrs. here in Holland) from a trainig bike ride to even things out; a little bit of good bad and a little bit of good health . Tim.
  20. Welcome to the forum! Fortunately many pics are in the archives of klipsch speakers with very 'representable' ladies. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna look 'm up right now. A good weekend to all! Tim.
  21. Welcome back Max, good to know that one of the Europeans is back in place. Yes the Olympics can be exciting. The Dutch lost a few finals: women's hockey and yes it is also played by men, we also lost the men's final! Bummer. Anyway don't take your abstinance (is that spelled right?) too far, the hunger might grow so deep you'll never leave your cellar again once your back in there.. I'm still in training for the next Olympics... Javelin catching...
  22. I was just listening to a CD box of The Miles Quintet 1965-`68. Really great jazz that seems to get over looked since most people want to hear the earlier stuff. I think I`ll spend some more time with this box since it kept me up 2 hours past what I intended. Good informative reading in that CD box also. ---------------- I have the same box, great stuff indeed. It made me search and buy some of the original vinyls to get more feel of the albums when they came out. In the box sometimes different takes and albums are mixed and some songs are left out. It really is something between a 'best of' and 'alternate takes'. BTW; The sound of this box is outstanding, so the cd's from this same remaster session (1998) must sound equally great. Tim.
  23. Hot Stuff-Stones Born under punches (the heat goes on)-Talking Heads Five Leaves Left (the whole album)-Nick Drake (I know you can't dance to that)
  24. There is no cure, just go with it! One suggestion, why not buy Khorns + one Belle as center. Cornwalls for the garage/cellar and the heresy's for the toilet.
