  1. I'd sure like to have someone give me a pair of Cornwall III's. I'd like to include a pair in another two channel setup (SS?) to go along with my 80 Cornwalls and tube gear. Jubs and La Scala II's would be more than OK as well. []
  2. I don't envy you. I know personally how difficult quitting is. It's not easy or everyone would do it. Either that or they're lying. Congrats on getting past day one. Now go get some sleep pal.
  3. Please don't smoke if she decides to. Quit for yourself and good luck. I am rooting for you G, I know you can do it! Are you still cutting the lawn?
  4. Oh jeez, here we go again. As mentioned numerous times previously, hire a qualified electrician with references.
  5. Tried to look up the price, couldn't find out. May just make one, you got me thinking ! What about this?
  6. Hopefully he doesn't run into the financial woes that the old man did.
  7. I had a pair of, I want to say series II in the late 70's when I was in the Air Force (Torrejon AB, Spain) and liked them. What can I say, I was 18 years old. [] I sold the 901's and bought Cornwalls a year and a half later after hearing them in someone's dorm room. I also owned a pair of series VI a few years ago and sold them to my neighbor along with a Carver TFM-35x and C-5 preamp. That lucky SOB, my neighbor, also bought my long lost Scott 299D. In a nutshell, 901's are very power hungry, and the 250W Carver barely supplied enough. In summary I am somewhat disppointed that I got rid of the series VI. They can actually sound decent given certain situations. Besides, I only paid $400 for them. Flame away boys [:^)]
  8. So, is it or isn't it worth $60? I like Jack Sheldon. And as an added bonus he's funnier than hell too. Cracked me up the way he ran that snooty ******, the self proclaimed musician from Jersey right out of Jax the night I met you guys there. That was all time!
  9. How old are you? How long have you been smoking? That could have a bearing on how you feel. You may not feel better or different today after a week of not smoking, but you certainly will down the road. Just imagine how you'd feel if you continued to smoke or quit today 30 years from now. Congratulations! I wish you continued success in leading a tobacco free lifestyle.
  10. Sounds like a hit to me
  11. I couldn't agree with you more. Don't think anyone would disagree with that. I do think that folks should take the opportunity to hear what they can before choosing and to disregard preconceived notions on what various topography's can and cannot do. Josh How does topography relate to audio? How would it affect what one hears? Would you mind elaborating on what it can and cannot do?
  12. Thanks Speedball. It's basically a motorcycle without a motor. Just two legs for a power plant.
  13. Woo, thanks. I do most of my riding in the dirt. The majority of that being XC with some downhill thrown in. I am lucky enough to live at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains/Angeles National Forest in Pasadena, CA. We have some of the best and most diverse mountain bike trails locally that you could ever want. So for me, it's really a no brainer. I really do like my FOES FXR. The frame is hand made in my hometown, Pasadena, CA. I just bought it new in November. It's scary fast. Seems that the faster you ride, the smoother it gets. Of course that can be very dangerous at times as it tends to make you feel over confident in your riding ability. I do some road riding for both distance/endurance training and change of pace. And I also try to ride in as many charity rides/tours as I can. What it boils down to is that I look for any excuse I can to ride, as if I need one. []
  14. Rode the City of Angels today. It wasn't very challenging physically, but was lots fun as always. Met a lot of really cool people that also enjoy riding. Proceeds from participants and sponsors go to the Children's Hospital of L.A. Next up, Tour de Cure.
  15. That's sure a nice bike! What components and wheels do you have on it?
  16. Yea, what was I thinking advising you to hire a qualified electrician from way out here in So Cal? You're right, everything is fine on your end after swapping 20A to 15A fuses. I am truly sorry for all your anguish. May I suggest that you call/email Craig tomorrow and have him send your amps back. He said they're fine so why waste his time too? Once you receive them, plug everything back in on your pond pump circuit like before. Enjoy the results. End of story. Moderator please close this thread as my head is spinning.
  17. OK, has the weather warmed up enough for you guys to bust out your bikes? Another one of the perks of living in So Cal. [] Here's mine (2007 Foes FXR, 2007 Shimano XTR gruppo, 2007 XTR wheelset & hubs, 2007 XTR disc brakes, FOX Talas RLC, King NoThreadset, Fizik Gobi, Truvativ Team bars, stem and seat post) I love cycling and would sure enjoy seeing all of your bicycles.
  18. What Sheltie Dave and then Marvel said. Hire an electrician, end of story. Sheesh!!!
  19. I would either call or email Craig over at nosvalves.com 810-287-6135 craigostby@comcast.net
  20. meagain, Do any of your neighbors have galvanized wiring, knob and tube, and screw in type fuse panel?
