A reciever eliminates the need for an amp because it is built in. What kind of reciever were you looking at? What is the most you would like to spend on amplification?

Well with all of this happening I am afraid that this is the end of the home audio section of the forum or maybe the whole entire thing. I think that maybe we should try to make a back up forum incase something happpens to this one. If we are able to make a new forum if this one goes down can I be a moderator?

I want a center channel for dialog only for a little HT setup. Maybe if I was able to do a 5.1 what is the best reciever for about 200 to 400. I think that the pioneer elite that I was talking about sounds like a really good deal but I haven't heard it so I am now asking you guys if there is any thing better for the money. Thanks, Taylor

It isn't really a reversal of financial fortune as you say it is just that I'm selling my speakers and my amp and using the money I have been saving up for the last few months to buy the speakers. It was just my birthday and I am using my birthday money too to pay for the speakers. I will now go and bump up the thread where I said I would give back the money.

Where are you going?

I was hoping to find a mode that uses the center channel for voice and the other two speakers for everything else. Are there any new recievers that will do this? I am interested in getting a Yamaha reciever.

I there a surround sound mode for just the front channels, center channel, and the sub?
