I won an auction of E bay for a nice old 62 LT 110 With the brown face and knobs. I was wondering if anyone has built a case for their Scott eguipment and may have the measurments handy. I have a friend who could build me a nice piece to match my Peach Preamp case. Thanks, Brian

I think he may have brought them by your shop. I believe they are the VTA s. I have them hooked in triode and dont know if I like them as well that way. Brian

I am probably on the outside of a 2 hr trip. Perhaps about 3 hrs away. I live in Horseheads NY about 15 minutes from Watkins Glen International Racetrack. I work for the State and travel periodically but I know I will be in town Easter Weekend and the weekend following. I have my amps set up in triode which gives excellent Mids but lacks bottom unless you dont mind some volume, then the bottom end returns. Check out www.edn.com and search for keyword Boosted Triode. The article dated 6/12/2003. I have my Mark 3s hooked up in triode and am currently going to add larger capacitors on either side of the choke. I was thinking of doing this mod as well to boost the bottom end. Brian

The Getter in the top of the tube is the venerable "D" getter. The best. Rare. I knew once you got a little time on the tube you would love it. The pinch waste tubes from holland are very rare. I felt the same way when I saw how nice the tube was. Someone had taken very good care of them. I run the Peach in Hi Z mode and love it. Wait till you get about 50 hrs on it. It gets really smooth. The best amperex are from the Holland Plant by far. My tube balances out perfectly left and right at about 10 oclock. You will be very pleased when you get this tube. I hated to put the dampers on the tube because the lettering is absolutly perfect! The pinch waste design probably does not need the dampers but I run them anyway. I have my bar/sound room in an addition above a two car garage and this time of year I have a propane heater hanging from the ceiling down there that kicks on and off occasionally. Since switching to this tube in V1 and using the dampers I have zero harmonics. You wont be sorry! Brian

I bought mine at Tube Depot. Beautiful origional box, perfect lettering. I was told it is NOS and I have no reason to believe it is not. With shipping it was 253.90. I had it in 4 days. I big investment but I am very pleased with the sound quality. Brian

I bought my dampers from dampers@levytubes.com, Miami FL. 33155. High Density SILICONE Vacuum Tube Vibration Dampers. Aerospace Silicone-Rated at 400 Degrees F. I run them on all my tubes everywhere. I even bought the little vibration damping dots for under the Mark 3s. I have bought a closely matched set of Holland Amperex that I can try in V2 and V3. I have a long weekend coming up and will do some more swapping around to let you know. I really love this pinch waste tube in V1 Mark, really Lets the Peach sing. Brian

I have the Telefunken 12ax7 smooth plates. A nicely matched pair. They seem to complement the highs as the Pinch Waste tube in the Peach is a smoother more musical sounding tube than the siemens in V1. I have had a nice set of RCA 5751 Command Series in the Jolida which are very nice but dont sound as good with the Pinch Waste tube in the Peach.

In my peach I purchased an early Holland Amperex Pinch Waste for $250. from TubeDepot. I run it in V1. I have Siemens in V2 and V3. I run the heavy mass tube dampers on all the tubes. The amperex is far superior in sound than the siemens. The siemens sounded nice but were very harmonic. The pinch waste is in a class all by itself. 427rs

I have a set of Modded Mark 3s. I am currently running a set of Tesla KT-88 Pearl Cryo Valves. (Expensive because of the Cryo treatment.) Seems to have a more detailed base which I feel my LaScalas lack. My FAVORITE tubes in my application (hard to find matching tubes one at a time) are Tung sol Black plates 6550s from the late 50s. I bought a Heathkit TT 1 tester to eventually get another matched quad so that I can run them again.

I picked up what I believe to be a great deal on E-bay. A Teac Model # R-314 Tube reel to reel. Check out Item #5738733598. To the tube techs here I am wondering if I can power the pre-amps up right out of the box or am I better off having a tech bring them up on a Variac and check things out. This unit appears to be cherry. Your opinions and anyone knowing about these units, your input is appreciated. Thanks

Years ago I started with a set of Home built Cabinets with 15in. Utah gear with mid and tweeter horns, Bass reflex design. Sold them as I was living in apartments and kept having the law called. Owned Pioneer, JBL Century l00s, Bose 601s and then the 901s. I had heard Cornwalls cranked at a local pub in the early 80s and was blown away. The end of last year I was looking for a set and ended up spending a bit more and bought a set of LaScalas, I was blown away and stored the 901s in the basement. Since then I have bought all tube equipment and "rediscovered audio." I have sent my Jolida 100 to Canada to Parts Connexion for Chris Johnson's level 2 mod. My Klipsh have brought back my desire in music! 427rs

I can say that the addition of the Cryo treated Svets was outstanding. After the Mullard rectifier tube was installed I had to lower the bias adjustment immediatly as it went from 1.56 to over 2. I havent compared this to the 70 as this is my first tube amp, in comparison with my Mark 3s this amp is much sweeter at lower volumes, (not where I usually listen). I have had this amp paired with LaScalas and it sounds great with these tubes. I sounded harsh and bright with the sovtecs. If my system wasnt in the state of constant flux (need the cash for more upgrades) I would keep it for another room. 427rs

I bought this amp in January. It arrived with a complete set of Sovtecs. I bought a NOS Mullard 5AR4, (75.) a matched set of RCA 6GH8As from Bob Crites and a Matched Quad of SED (Svetlana) Pearl Cryo EL-34s, (145.) The tubes are just breaking in and I would estimate less than 60hrs. use. This amp was rebuilt by Van Alstine and sounds great. It has the upgraded RCA jacks on the front and the new speaker connects on the back. I paid 660. plus shipping and invested the extra cash for the new tubes. I will let it go for 650. with all the tubes and pay the shipping so long as it doesnt exceed 50. I purchase a rebuilt set of Mark 3s as I wanted more power. The super 70 sounds sweeter and has a more dynamic sound stage at lower volumes than the Mark 3s but I like to listen to my music at higher volumes and we are building a 34x24 bar room above the garage for my new playroom. I tried to load a pic but had problems, I can e-mail pics if interested. If no interest I will list it on E-Bay in a few days. 427rs

There is a volume control for the Headphones. You can run a jack and splitter to your amplifier till you get a pre-amp. 427rs

I picked up my Jolida used on Audiogon for 660. What a steal! Sounds great and has a volume control for the headphones. I bought a set of RCA Command Series 5751s and took the top off to install them and found a set of RCA 5751s already in there! The commands sound great.
