  1. Out of the blue. I spoke with the local GM and the regional VP and they only found out 5 days ago. It was a mandate from the company President. One day at a time now. I've already started reaching out to my network of friends in several industries. Time will tell.
  2. Kind of got kicked in the head yesterday. Our company president called to let me know they are going to a national purchasing model and my department will no longer exist. Bottom line is I will no longer have a job come January 1. Well a Merry Christmas and a Ho Ho Ho to you. Time to refresh the resume and start looking.
  3. I think cables are amoeba or tribbles; they multiply. I see you like KnuKoncepts. Good bang for your buck. I like the locking RCA's. I have a couple of those around here.
  4. I'm still around. Just reading more than posting.
  5. Had a garage sale today. I can't believe I didn't get one audio flipper. I had SAE, B&O, JBL, Pioneer, Teac, Hitachi, Toshiba and Samung gear out. People didn't know what component stereo was. They never heard of SAE or B&O. I truly live on an audio island.
  6. Good tubes can cost more , but tubes that cost more are not necessarily good tubes.
  7. It wouldn't be a cruise without crystal water.
  8. Here are a few pictures from an animal sanctuary in Roatan and cave tubing in Belize.
  9. Just got back from a great cruise; Cozumel, Belize, Roatan Honduras. Now back to reality and working for a living.
  10. No matter where you go, there you are.
  11. That era of B&O is nice to look at and sounds good but with age they can be a PIA to work on. The insides are filled with ribbon cables so they could layer the boards to get the design flat. The cables become intermittent. I have a 1900 and an 8000 receiver. The 1900 still works but I gave up on the 8000. I think it is in the garage. I also have the matching 8000 turntable and cassette deck. The linear arm drive gear broke and the cassette needs belts. Too much gear and not enough time.
  12. Happy Monday and start of another week for us worker bees. A very productive weekend. Trimmed and cut a lot of trees, as we have heavy brush pickup this week. My new favorite tool is a Stihl pole saw. Also, having a new roof put on the house and shop (little one in the back yard) starting tomorrow. Life is always happening.
  13. I'm sure the Belgians are happy to hear this.
  14. Also spent a few hours playing pinball. I haven't done that in 30 years.
  15. I has some fun over at a friend's house this weekend. I got to play around with a vintage Rock-Ola jukebox. Here is a picture of the inner workings.
  16. Congrats guys. Just remember we are good friends.
  17. That is way cool! Bass baby bass
  18. I feel your pain. I sold that car during the gas crunch when I couldn't get premium gas any longer. I wish I knew where it was today.
  19. Speaking of old pictures. Here is my 1972 Satellite I stuffed a hemi in.
  20. My grandfather bought this car new in December of 1954. By the time I got it, the old 265 was worn out. An oil filter was optional and he didn't get one. So, I took a 1967 283 4-bolt truck block and punched it 40 and fitted a Crower cam. The 196 heads are ported, polished and roller rockers. I used 1957 ram horn exhaust manifolds and had them HPC coated. The intake is an Edelbrock with the their name ground off and powder coated. A nice little 300 horse small block.
  21. I don't care who you are. No one sits on my stereo.
