  1. Nice ! Here is the engine I did 20 years ago in my 55 Belair. I still have the car and the engine is still the same, just not as clean.
  2. Good Morning all. A nice long weekend. A little bit of everything was done. I visited a friend's house and spent about 4 hours listening to his high end system. There was the regular yard work of mowing, edging and tree trimming. I did some trouble shooting on a Jolida JS-302A amplifier and ordered the parts to fix it. I treated the wife to breakfast a couple days; thick cut apple wood smoked bacon and Greek eggs one day and French toast the next. Rose and I spent some time across the street at our friend's house just hanging out by the pool and talking. All in all a nice weekend.
  3. That rabbit hole runs really deep.
  4. What a morning. The weekend cannot get here fast enough. I need a drink...or two... or three...just give me the bottle. We had a molten lava hot order being manufactured upstate. We had a truck waiting to pick it up at 10:30 last night. The truck didn't get loaded until 5:30 this morning. Then we find out they loaded the wrong item on the truck. Just can't win for losing.
  5. What you need is an 1802 or maybe two.
  6. Hopefully not behind that preposition. Sorry couldn't resist.
  7. I got the Shanling CD-T1500 in 2010. It repaced a CD-T100. Before the ASL amps, I had Shanling SP-80 mono blocks
  8. Classic films; Willy Wonka, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein
  9. Whoa flash back...the old 55 gallon drum fire barrel. My grandparents used one on a daily basis to burn trash. Food scraps went into the trash can, but anything that could burn, did. Thanks for the memory.
  10. Yes, Altec 802-8G driver with the tangerine phase plug and the 511B horn. JBL 2235H woofers and 077 tweeters.
  11. Yes, and with the wife's approval. She's actually the one who started calling our neighbor my girlfriend.
  12. Good morning. Looks like it is yard day. Going to mow and edge, before it gets hot. Need to trim the trees that are to close to the power line and about to rub the roof. Then go over to my neighbor's house and replace a toilet valve for her. When all the work is done, it will be time for a drink and some tunes. Speaking of tunes, I posted a picture of my main system in the 2 channel forums.
  13. It has been 7 years since I posted part 2. Here is my main 2-channel rig, as it sits today. I just added the Maplenoll clone (air bearing turntable). The stand I built last year to fit around the amps. Top shelf - Maplenoll clone turntable, Shanling CD-T1500 SACD, Clearaudio Champion II turntable 2nd shelf - Samsung 2T hard drive, Auralic Aires Mini DAC/music server, Sonic Euphoria passive preamp, Lounge Audio phono preamp 3rd shelf - PS Audio Quintessence power center Far right - Tascam BR-20 reel to reel On the floor - Antique Sound Labs AQ1006 845 DT MKII mono blocks Speakers are DIY using Altec and JBL parts /img]
  14. It really doesn't matter how you get there, as long as you are having fun and enjoying the music.
  15. I have an American Standard unit like the Mitsubishi. Our sunroom was an addition to the house and did not have heat or A/C. The ductless split unit works amazingly well and is the quietest system I have ever heard. If anyone is in the market for a A/C unit, I highly recommend looking into one of these ductless systems.
  16. A little to far for me. I'll ask my buddy in Cheektowaga if he'll take a look at it.
  17. Does leaving it unplugged overnight do anything? How about when you go to turn it on, you hold the power button in for about 5 -10 seconds?
  18. I had our entire AC system replaced last year. Well everything but the duct work. Went with an American Standard 4 ton 18seer unit, humidity control and some fancy three stage electrostat filtering system. With the humidity in the house around 50%, we learned to turn the temp up to keep from being too cold. Our old system we kept the temp around 72. Our new system we set at 78. Our electric bill has been cut in half.
  19. That is strange. Does the unit not play, but only shows the flashing power light?
  20. Travis and I ate there. It is really good. The applewood bacon cheese burger and the Chicago dog are awesome.
  21. Good morning all. The rain continues today. This is not normal for August in San Antonio. Usually by now, we are in 100+ temps and stage II water rationing. Right now we are in the 80's and the aquifer is going up almost a foot a day. I'm not complaining. It is a nice change. Still it is keeping me from picking up the Baltic birch for my Cornwall III build.
  22. Skip all the computer stuff and get an Auralic Aries Mini at $549. Add an external or internal hard drive and you have a self contained music server that does up to PCM 32/384 and DSD256. The DS Lightning control software works wonderfully.
  23. Yea I'm right there with you but my company has this funny rule that I have to be here to get paid. What?....I know, who comes up with this stuff.
