Yeah if it still works, it's probably nothing you should worry about unless you see a decrease in performance...but I doubt that's a case here.

thats good to hear that the highs are really good also the i liked how you hooked up the rsx to both a sep. amp and the ultras to compare the quality of sound you get from both. its good to hear the ultras amp doesnt sound liek crap compared with sep. amps

007, question, how are the highs on the rsxs?

I think they actually made it WORSE too by down grading from 3 5" "woofers" to now only 2...I remember reading that somewhere.

Oh I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about there 5.1 setups (I should read a little more careful next time). Yeah you are right though for like 1.5 inch drivers they could get pretty loud and okay sound. Only if they were priced around 300 or so dollars they would sell so much more.

And actually the soundstage is very large at all...it "sounds" like that because the way it is setup. The rears are only about 6 feat away from the mains so of coarse you would get a "full" immersive sound.

Uhh Bose....? I would take the RSX or even the Ultras over the Bose anyday.

Please stay FARRRR away from anything named Bose... Well yeah the floorstanding speakers do give more bass plus a wider sound stage, more dynamics and overall better sound.

Cheap? I recommend the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. Great card you can get them for about $40 I think on newegg.com (get the OEM) version. Expensive? Maybe Audigy 2 or the M-Audio Revolution

Hey 007, does those satts sound good without a subwoofer? The stats say they will go down to 92Hz but I think they would have to go down to ATLEAST 70Hz to sound okay to use without a sub. Just wondering.

Yeah the Altec's material is called prolypropene or something they are quality wise probably worlds away. Hey 007 do those 4's and 5's sound good near fielded? Like let's say your sitting only about a feet or two away. Or do you have to be a good distance away since the drivers look pretty huge?
