  1. of course if one of your wire run 36 times around your house, and the other make 1 meter you may have some problems
  2. if i remember well what i learnt during my studies, in a copper wire the speed of an electrical signal is about 66% of the light speed. but as you said, it s still so fast that the lenght of the wire is not a problem.
  3. for the phase setted at 180, we cannot know if it s right or wrong, it depends on the placement of your sub. the best is to make some tests.
  4. one the little yamaha receiver the crossover frequancy for the sub cannot be set, it s 80Hz. this crossover frequency is used for HT and music.
  5. one of the wire for my rears is about twice the other and it sound very good. you can only have problems with wire lenght if they very very long. in a house you should never have problem with wire lenght.
  6. bclarke421 you re right but the current don t goes as fast as the light. but it doesn t change a lot your calcul.
  7. desolé j ai eu 2 promedia 2.1 pour faire un systeme 4.2, un promedia 5.1 mais jamais de 4.1 ou de V2-400. je comprends que tu sois inquiet, la garantie klipsch en france c est compliqué. ne parlons pas trop francais ici, c est un forum anglais quand meme so it seems i cannot really help you, sorry
  8. a french here?!so, we are two it seems that your link doensn work. use the "attach file button" when you post a reply. (en haut a gauche de la fenetre, une fois que tu as clické sur reply, c est le bouton avec le petit plus vert, c est juste au dessous de "fill in the form below") i hope it s clear.
  9. just one question: who will pay 75000$ to have one of these ugly wilson box in their living room?
  10. i had a promedia speaker wich did a such thing: it was the electrical components of the crossover that were to close(only one millimeter between them). when i listened to music a loud level, at some frequencies, two components touch.i just twisted the 2 component a little bit to avoid they touch each other, with 5mm of space between them i ve never heard this noise again. i hope this will help you.
  11. why not begining by 2 RF7, so you will have a good stereo setup. and then you will be able to upgrade step by step, an RC7, then 2 RB75 or RS7....then a sub. in that way i think you will enjoy listening to your system. i think that only 2 good floorstanding speakers are better than good surround and center. it s just my opinion.
  12. i think you should have some straps to attach both of the connectors if you don t want to by wire.
  13. it does not matter if your receiver is 85 or 100, as soon as it is more then 10 it should be enough
  14. klipsch speakers have a high sensitivity. even if the synergy speakers sensitivity is lower than the reference products, its high enough. i ve "only" 65w per channel with some sf1 and i ve never used more than the half of the power.
  15. i had two promedia 2.1 some times ago.i used them in a 4.1 system for movies. it sounded amazing. and for music, even with deep bass, one promedia 2.1 with the sub placed in a corner sound very good. promedia 2.1 are the best 2.1 speakers for pc i ve heard (and owned)

Is there a reason for that? Currently, the mains are at 0dB, the rears are at +2 dB and the center is at +8dB. The only ones fed by the receiver's amplifier are the mains. The rear are in a separate power amplifier and the center is the TV. I never watch a movie above -20 dB, and only rarely above -25dB. ---------------- what you ve done and what i advice should lead to the same result. i think one of the two methode is asking less from the amp. in fact lots of people here make this advice and i just trust them because they had a bigger knoledge than me(their number of post was bigger than mine).
  17. of course my example is not very good. here is a more acurate example: a new F3 is better than a RF15 or an RF25.because it s an RF3 wich as been relooked. i think a SF3 or SF2 is also better. it my opinion.but as i always say, all people don t like the same sound. it s a matter of taste.
  18. i m sure the new synergy line worth to be listened... trey, will it be avaible in europe, especially in france? and when will it be avaible? thanks for the answer.
  19. the floorstanding speakers seems to be better than the old synergy line, but the surrounds seems to be not as good as the old line:sensitivity not as good, frequencie response not as good. ok the look is better but i think the sound is more important.

  21. psg, if a halfof your basment is not finished, you can finish it and make one only room for your gear, so your room will be large enough for klipschorns, the lascalas will become center and surrounds.there is just one lascala and some work to do missing

I am assuming the noise you might get from the fan would be in the Speaker lines? maybe a hum or something like that? I will try a fan blowing out of the rear, any size i should look for? ---------------- exactly before buying anything to make tests with fan, i think you should really try to find a way to make breath your amp without fan.it will be cheaper, and you will have no problem. remove all parts of the cabinet around your amp which isn t needed. if you have a space of around 2 inch around your amp and nothing behind that could avoid the air to cool the amp it should be enough to listen t your system at medium level.if you want some very high level the space around the amp should be larger. i m thinking of a test you can make: place your amp outside the cabinet without nothing around and listen to some music and see if it get hot. if your amp is as hot as in the cabinet there is may be something wrong. as i said an amp is made to work as it is built if you use it on normal conditions. i think you don t listen your system at the maximum tha amp can provide so with this test, if you cannot leave your and on the amp for some seconds, your amp have a problem.
