hehehe... i still prefer my girlfriend as my speaker, even if they are some klipsch anyway, i ve found a good match and i enjoy both my girlfriend and my speakers

old gear have often more advantages than modern stuff. and modern speakers are often build with old technology.

i had the same problem with my girlfriend. i wanted RF3 even if they were expansive. but after she listen them and see how loud they can play she said it s too much for a flat or a house. so i only bought SF1.it sounds not as good as RF3 of course but for medium level listening they are good enough.for the same price i ve a complete home theater and she enjoy watching movie. you can may be do some room treatment, so with a lower volum the sound will be as good as now.

if you can, tou should make some tests with another amp.

if the CP1 is a control pod and if you have changed it, it only remains the amp i hope we have forgotten something.

even if the person who advice you like the speakers he suggests, audio is a matter of taste. one persone may love some speakers and other people will hate them. the best is to listen ant test before buying. any way, before you sell all your gear, listen to several thing, make some tests, change your speakers placement or your amp setings...something may be wrong.

it s not that you are right or wrong. it s because some american people on the forum think it s not fair to make work some chiness people while some american people don t have any job. i think like you:whatever the place they are made.what count is how they sound. klipsch must make profit to survive so i understand that they make speaker where workers don t cost too much. it s the same thing everywhere at the moment.

heu, just one question: english is not my native language and i don t understand "muffled". when you said the synergy sound is muffled compares to the reference, does it means that they sound less loud than the rf? if it s this i agree. they need less power to sound as loud as the synergy serie, for the RF 3 i ve heard and my SF1 i would say that the SF need almost twice the power of the rf to make the same level of sound.it s because of the sensitivity of the rf that is very high. the synergy serie as good sensitivity but the rf has an amazing one.

don t forget what rjon17469 and i ve said: check the sub volum!! it could be the button of the bass control that is turned to a too high volume. a bad sub placement would make messy bass, not clear and sharp. it could be this but i think the sub overdrive is a better answer to your problem. let s go step by step.it you go too fast in the troubleshoot, we may miss something.

but i agree with you lynnm: if an equipement works corectly, and if we use it properly, its fuses shouldn t blow.

i think it s a good solution. no waste of money with this solution, and you can decide with real fact.

the cat 3 cable have twisted paires. so it s shielded.of course if the cable run next to a power cord for 25meters long, the shield won t help a lot.

i understand what you mean. you need something, so you search for it and once you found what you need you buy it.the brand don t matters.i agree. but if one is 10 times more expensive than the other and have the same effect, i bet you will think a little before buying the expansive one. there is also another solution: you can make it. if you do it well it can have the same quality as monster or audioquest stuff for the price of a crapy cable.

If the are blowing frequently you need to find out why. ---------------- you are right fuse are made to protect an electrical equipment. there are some strange things sometimes: i had 2 promedia 2.1 hooked on the same source and on the same power cord. after one year without any problem, one of the promedia blowed 2 fuses in about 2 weeks. then the second did the same thing. and after this no problems. i gave the promedia 2 years ago to a friend and he still has them and he has not changed the fuses. sometimes the fuses get weak while they get old or some fuse don t have the properties they should have.

in fact you re struggling but you agree on one point: the cable must be shielded.here is the important point.
