Get a Brick WALL surge protector from Pricewheeler. their are stories about people's homes being REPEATEDLY struck due to a massive electrical storm, and every appliance in their home that was plugged in was destroyed....EXCEPT!!! the Home Theater which was plugged into a brick wall unit... pay the extra money and get one of these--NOT Panamax, NOT monster...BRICKWALL-PRICE WHEELER, you won't be sorry--hopefully you'll never have to find out how well it works...

Do you immediately decide that you want to pay least for something; you just cost some Americans their job. Are you really that willing to forgo quality for price; you just cost some Americans their job. etc etc. We did it all. We forced the companies to send jobs oversees because they had to lower their cost to compete and then they get blamed for the jobs leaving the states. You want jobs to stay here: BUY AMERICAN. Yeah, it will cost you more but remember, we enjoy the highest levels of comforts because we are the US. ---------------- Hmmm...this is a very simplistic, and idealistic way to look at things. Its already been shown that the egghead economists have found out that their concepts of trickle-down economics don't work. Now our government incentivises companies to move their processes offshore, with MASSIVE tax incentives for said company. The original idea was that if it costs less to make, then it will cost less to buy. very simple idea. however--the GREED of companies wasn't factored into this equasion. So now, we have things costing less to make, costing the same-if not more to buy (the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is much higher than in previous years, YET inflation is not--inflation: A measurement of how fast or slow the CPI is changing--this situation is a problem) and less money in the economy on a whole. the problem starts with the corporations who have no reason to have responsibility to the economy. My buying american will not solve this problem. what will solve the problem is stop outsourceing, learn to be more efficient in our work practices, force companies to opperate in good faith to the nation, and have a govt. that shows more concern for its work force. Jack Walsh, former CEO of G.E. laid off 15,000 people the same day he had his office completely redone in Teak wood. Where is the responsibility as a corporation to their world in this action??? Corporate Raider business tactics are what cause jobs to leave this country in droves. The absolute desire for money by greedy corporations. They make more money than EVER before, and the so called savings has NEVER been passed on to the consumer. There was a time when removing workforce was a ploy to boost stock price, but that doesn't work anymore, in fact--it works in opposite! when companies lay off workers, or offshore their work, their stock price doesn't increase--in fact, it more often than not decreases! Some of this is to blame on the consumer, but my buying a product made in the USA will not influence a corporation to keep that worker here in america. Go visit Flint Michagan and talk to me about getting rid of jobs---Go talk to one of the 500,000 former employees of Mcdonald-douglas. I refuse to believe the BS that moving jobs overseas will in "the long run" increase jobs here, its a false premise created to justify the absolute lack of corporate responsibility that is maintained in the US.

I was VERY impressed, the filming was awesome, everything was awesome. ---------------- I question if you can compare these two movies in that manner--they are distinct from each other, less of a sequel and more of an "extention". Vol. 1 is more of an "action" film, vol. 2 has character development, more than fighting, but the fight sceenes that it does have are very well coreagraphed (sp) and very tight in that the cameras are exactly where they should be, the speed and angles of the shots are very fitting to the film. there is again that whole 70s' Noir throwback going on, possibly more so in this one-particularly in "the bride's" training parts, but once again, like the first one, its very well done and over the top intentionally, yet clever enough to let you know that this 'cheesy' quality was in fact intentional... Vol 2 is a better "film" than vol. 1, in that it has more merit, but vol. 1 is where most of the action takes place. they both are exceptional however, each in their own right but they are distinctly different movies. I actually prefer vol. 2 as a viewable movie, and a solid story line, and I am willing to trade the non-stop action of the Vol. 1 for the sheer cleverness of vol. 2 Vol. 2 has merits that are very present aside from the fight sceenes, and I believe stands the test of time better than the "shock value" influences of Vol. 1 I do not believe that these can be looked at as a seperate movie however, but really of 1 movie with a big intermission. I would love to see an eventual release of the two movies together, continous. They must have footage that ties the two together seamlessly...

The same people that felt this was a cerebral film also felt that CONTACT was "smart" as well. the Matrix series (and CONTACT for that matter) was about as thought provokeing as the stoner philosophy of "what if cat really spelled dog?" or the ever popular "what if we are just an atom on some fingernail of some greater creature, blah blah blah..." and to address the animal farm part: Animal farm is a parable about the revolution--George Orwell said it himself. So he took a political happening and used animals instead of people. The work is spectacular, but His much more cerebral work is 1984 by far, particularly when they (Winston and Obrian) delve briefly and somewhat incorrectly (what they speak of isn't really 'metaphysics', but obrian says it is in the novel) into Metaphysics at the end of the novel. My being able to rattle stuff like this off the top of my head got me quite a bit of repeat and referral customers...and I hate to see people have a bad time simply because no one gave them some facts to work with.. airing it out: yes, the smell will fade away, but do keep in mind that you just used a high grade urathane, and this does have a chemical smell to it (by the way, waterproof from the outside of the tent or the fumes will suck all the oxygen out of the camper and you will pass out!!--if you need to do the inside, make sure you're well ventilated). Get some good odor control products and after it dries, then try to control the smell. it will go away eventually...the more you use it, or air it out, the quicker the smell will fade.... 18. Oh its all good all....you can diss my gear all you want, I'm past the point of getting upset about it, I've had too many people over that know audio that have just fallen in love with my system to care anymore...I like it, and if you don't...thats cool. I would say you should hear it sometime in a theater set up before you judge however... what I was TRYING to say...but started a rant, is that the recorded level of the Matrix series is rather low, and it DOES NOT take advantage of the technology that is out there. believe me, the Def techs have no problem reproduceing bass, its just that I've heard other movie tracks that were far more impressive than the Machine head part of this film. was it cool? Eh, it was OK. would I use it to show of my system? no. what HAVE I used to show off my system?---well, the airplane crash in Fightclub is a very good sceene to start with... My point was this: the matrix series let me down. The sound of this technological extravaganza let me down. Overall, I was wholely unimpressed. Lord of the rings on the other hand...man....the sound in that series is INCREDIBLE! I just thought that the matrix series could have been much better modulated and worked on at the sound board. it was not a "hot" recording by any means, and of all films that should be, it should be. Fightclub and Finding Nemo for example I can't even attempt to listen to louder than say... -15, Matrix I was at -6 and still going... I would also say to the Audiophiles out there, if you are an audiophile and can look past the fact that it is THE MATRIX, the soundtrack on this is rather weak. the channel steering is only So-So, and the bass levels aren't really present, as they are in other great sci-fi films that are out there.

Coming in way Way WAY under what I was thinking about spending which makes the wife very happy. Looking forward to this summer. ---------------- Some free maintance advice for you, seeing as I use to work in a store that specialized in this sort of thing... I'm assumeing that this is a "pop up"-- Get yourself a bottle or two of "TEAR MENDER". its a fabric cement that is specifically designed for heavy weight canvas, and poly-cotton blends. ONLY TEAR MENDER--accept no substitutes. Then get some PRESHRUNK pieces of canvas, cut them in a CIRCLE, put one on the inside, and one on the outside of the tear or hole, and then glue them together with the tear mender. once dry you will have a fix that is stronger than the original material. if you want to sew this material ever, and don't have access to an industrial grade sewing machine, you can get a hand sewing tool called a SPEEDY STICHER that will go through 10 oz. canvas and sew a lock stich with waxed cotton thread. very handy "in the field" If you wash it use WOOLITE, as it will get rid of any mildew yet, is gentle on the fabric sidewalls and such. Canvas, especially old canvas is very suceptable to UV damage and dryrot--woolite is gentle enough that it won't further break down the material. If you do wash it, you will need to rewaterproof it which is a lenghty process, so your best bet would be try to brush it off and make sure its clean when you fold it up. if its wet when you fold it up, make sure you open it up to dry properly or it will mildew. If you need to re waterproof it DO NOT go with any of the spray on canned stuff. it doesn't work. its only a surface coat, and it will crack and flake off--then you just spent money on a product that is merely a temporary solution. if anyone tells you otherwise they are wrong. I've worked in an outdoor supply store for 13 years, and I know my gear. rewaterproofing....the BEST stuff out there was this stuff called "WEATHER MASTER" in a orange square can, that you applied with a brush. it was great for that heavy 10 oz fabric that they use for campers. Unfortuneately WEATHER MASTER is no longer being made as its production violates new corporate polution standards. The next best thing--THOMPSONS water seal. when in doubt--don't use silicone, use Urathane. Silicone does not penetrate, it coats. Urathane adheres to the fabric itself, and it penetrates to the fibers. This holds true for Nylon as well. Once you re-waterproof the sidewalls and such, and let it dry you then have to "season" the canvas by spraying it down with water. this time--it will leak. the canvas will then expand to get rid of gaps and such, and the NEXT time it gets wet, it will remain sealed. It will smell, so be prepared for that--but it will be waterproof. Many a time I've had angry customers because they didn't season their canvas products, even after we told them this process was crucial to any new waterproofing or new product. getting wet can ruin your trip, yet its very easy to avoid. You will also need to seal the seams on the product, as the thread holes are too big for the canvas to block completely (Unless they used non-synthetic thread to sew it, which will expand like the canvas fabric, but its more than likely they did not) for seam seal you want to get K-KOTE or Sevlor SEAMSEAL. the other thing that works temporarily is a wax stick, or residue, but for a semi permanent solution you need to seal the seams with the products I mention. seal the seams from the inside, as the seal seal product will darken the material slightly. if you do it from the outside, you will "stripe" your material. If you do these things, you will be guaranteed to be able to cope with any surprises along the way that may arrise in your shelter. HAPPY CAMPING!!

I gotta say...the voice thing is just that...HYPE!!! this movie was kinda weak--albeit better than the 2nd one. the sound track is also poorly done--a movie like this that can take full advantage to good channel steering and such, yet it doesn't. Whoever did the modulation on this Disc should be shot--its terrible. I'm sure this is so that they can release a DTS-ES BLAH BLAH special 4 disc collectable stuffed neo action figure version in the future, but man...come on....this disc's sound is awful. I've heard more bass and excellent surround use from SPYGAME (which has a great soundtrack and is very well modulated..and DTS) than this movie.
