I think my other brother sold his Aragon for $475 (give or take), and I think it's class-A. ---------------- Damn that things beautiful. I still prefer Jennifer Garner, though So what would pair up best with the Heresy's? (Oh, and they're Heresy I's) Last year of em too, 1985.

But he went tubes and later sold it...now he regrets it. Crystal clear, shimmering highs, a rich, full midsection, and a seriously tight bottom end with loads of punch. A best buy for sure, in my humble opinion. ---------------- Do you know how much he sold it for? Isnt it all class a? Or am I thinking of something else?
  3. Hey all, I think Im in the market for a new amp. I've been keeping an eye out for a few two channel amps lately, and a few have caught my eye. But I still dont really know what I'm looking for. I was thinking about just going straight to the tube route, but I think a tube amp would be like a space heater in my room. So far, I've looked at the McIntosh MC 250, the 2200, and the 2100. I've seen quite a few go for about $300, give or take a few. I have no experience with McIntosh though. I dont know what to expect from them, or what they sound like. I've also looked at some Parasounds. The HCA 2200 II, which still brings in quite a bit, but still caught my eye. Also, one of their newer A 23 THX, or something like that. The last one I have on my mind is the Aragon 2004 MK II. Right now, I have a Harman Kardon HT receiver, the AVR 125, which puts out 55 wpc, I think. I want to go for a two channel amp, unless I can find an HT amp that bests the HK. I was wanting to find an amp that puts out about 100 wpc, to use every once in a while at church or school, just to make sure I have headroom. Price limit I think will have to stay under $400 for the time being. I listen to a lot of Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, and quite a few other rock groups, if that helps. So can yall help me find the perfect amp for me? Thanks, David
  4. I might be intrested in the rears, depending on what model they are.

  7. Haha Im glad you like em! I've had mine for about two months, I think, now, and I'm extremely happy with them. One of the best investments I've ever made But yeah, I dont use a sub when I have them on. But I have reached the limits on the woofer before-- It was peaking at 110 db, while playing the beginning of The Dance of Eternity, which has strong peaks in the 20 hz range. So it really didnt suprise me, but I had the bass cranked anyway. But these speaks can really put out.
  8. Thanks for all the comments! So Klispch is the actual manufacturer of the drivers? I love the Heresy's to death. Its the best investment I've ever made. I dont want to offend any one, but I really prefer the sound of the Heresy's to the RF-7's and the like. Yeah, they sound good, but I just wasnt really impressed. But yeah, Im not sure If I could get any happier. Well, I bet I could if I got a new amp and all that, but Im happy for now Thanks!
  9. Hey all, I had the backs off the Heresy's last night, and I have some questions about whats in them. The woofer is a K-22-K, not sure what the K stands for. The midrange is the K-53-K. Again, not sure what the K stands for. And finally, the tweeter is just a K-77. What is the difference between that and a K-77-M? Which is better? I stuffed the cabinets with polyfill last night, and the lower end sounds more out there, or 3D I guess. Overall I like the sound. Thanks, David
  10. If you get the K-28-K woofer, It will let the Heresy dig a lot deeper.
  11. Lemme know how you mount the B3's. Im using a pair for surrounds for my Heresy's. The B3's sound damn good, hold their own in the bass dept (audible output to below 40), but cant hold anything to the Heresy. But it can sure dig a lot deeper than the Heresys. Later, David
  12. I've been in marching band for the past few years, and right now I'm in the wind ensemble, which is the top group, the best players in the school. I play the trombone.
  13. Klipschfoot-- Im not usually in the same room when its that loud. I do that when I'm on the other side of the house cleaning the kitchen or the living room or something. The loudest i get when im in the same room is where it peaks at 110, which is still really loud, but I only have it that loud for about one song's length, and then turn it down to about 100. Still not very responsible, but better than it was. Thanks for the links though!
  14. Every once in a while when I get in the mood to crank it, I put on some Dream Theater or Pink Floyd or something. It's a good 110 db in the house, peaking at 117. It can get louder, but I dont like to because it makes my insides feel really uncomfortable. Sometimes my gramma asks me a few days after I do that, she says "David, what was that song you were listening to the other day? I really liked it." I laughed my *** off the first time she asked because I didnt know it was that loud. She said that on the more bassy songs, her pictures rattled and the glassware in the cabnets shook. I couldn't believe it. Oh, she lives next door, for those who dont know.
  15. Do they smell bad? I blew a speaker the other day, and it smells really really bad.
  16. Hey all, just wanted to let yall know that I'm getting ready to buy the K-28 woofers to put in the Heresys. This is the woofer that is supposed to make the Heresy solid to 30 hz. Once the k-28 is in there, I will have two left over k-22's. I dunno how much they go for. I do know the k-28's will for for $100-$120 a piece. Does this sound like something yall might be intrested in? If they are $120 a piece, that will be $240, which i'll come up a bit short, but I'll have the woofers hopefully within the next month, maybe sooner if i have some help So I'll let yall know how everything goes. Later, David
  17. Awesome choice of music! The Scientist is one of my favorites.
  18. My 214 l alignment design has done 109 db at 20 hz. Thats as high as I got before I started hurting. Thats with a Tempest.
  19. I know DRBILL here on the forums has one. You might want to email him for his opinion. I know he loves his.
  20. 1. I wouldnt mind either. 2. I'd like to see some new stuff, and since I haven't heard them, La Scala's and Belles. 3. Any time after June 10 is fine with me 4. I'd like to see Trey and Amy. I owe Amy a lunch too

  22. Have you tried calling Klipsch? Almost no one else has had trouble with Klipsch customer service (besides the uncommon mix ups). Kinda off topic, but where in Texas are you?
