  1. I don't think we want to go down that road....
  2. Could you elaborate a bit on the "woofers are distorting" part....if it's both, it may not be them at all....we'll see....

    What I Got Today!

Somehow I knew that was coming.....but yes, Belle Right is just fine....kind of a combination of drop and pinch. Another audio memory!!

    What I Got Today!

I am the recipient of a broken big left toe, due to moving one of my Belle's today....trust me, you don't want to see it.
  5. Software Quality Assurance Manager for a large health insurer. I was thinking about going to med school to study gynecology, but joined the Navy and rode ballistic missile submarines for a few years instead.
  6. That is one heck of a backyard pizza oven....I want one....
  7. James, take a photo of yours, or get an image off the net. Take them to a trophy/awards shop, and there you go.
  8. How did I know this thread would morph into something.....off topic? Next!!
  9. OK, if it's apples and oranges, I get it, but just a question of relative soundstage, fullness, bass, etc. What would you rather own for the same price? Maybe a better query?
  10. Wow, this is apparently too difficult for YOU. Figure it out.
  11. My response is NOT non-committal...It is a response based on 50 years of experience, trial and error and lots of error. If you are relying for the most part on others to guide you, rather than your own experience and a good instant read thermometer then you are doomed. It is both an art AND a science. The art is the preparation, the science is the actual temperature, time, and equipment used....
  12. thanks Beek, about what I was thinking, but wanted to verify with you and other folks....I actually don't have the sf, but am starting to go vertical....out of necessity!!
  13. Possible acquisition of a model I don't have and have never heard.....let me know your thoughts...Will have to drive about 100 miles...
  14. for all of the information you could ever need on smoking meat and other things...go to thesmokering.com, best site ever.
  15. OK, first to answer your question....easier to cook to perfection?....well, if you're a perfectionist.....then both. It's all a matter of patience and watching, and the right temps. Get a GOOD instant read thermometer, and you will forever thank me. Secondly, Boxx....8-9 hours? really? I have always subscribed to the 3-2-1 method...3 hours on a rib rack (at about 240), 2 hours wrapped in foil, 1 hour (or less) back on the smoker naked...not me, the ribs....works every time for me. Now, I use a homemade Ugly Drum Smoker (UDS) made from a food grade 55 gallon drum. Others may use a Big Green Egg, Weber Smokey Mountain, or other variant. But that's what works for me.
  16. Spares have more flavor, no doubt in my warped mind....I used to do baby backs all the time, then switched over to spares and never looked "back" .........Another trick I learned, is that I used to remove the silver skin from the backside, to supposedly make them more tender, however, what this does is allow a lot of moisture to escape, and actually makes them drier....I don't do that anymore. I'm hungry now.....Oh, and as you can see from my avatar, I'm kinda into smoking and bbq.....Doing some T bones tonight with my homemade "cowboy" rub....send me 5 bucks and I'll share the recipe...
  17. Well, I mean, c'mon...subwoofer vs. Heritage section? Heritage is the backbone, lifeblood of the Klipsch brand.....have we no respect?
  18. Created a poll, with lots of very creative questions and answers, selected "Finish"and it disappeared. Chad, please comment and advise.
  19. Except that I have to wade through all kinds of other things that don't pertain to me, since I don't own any of it, other than Heritage or Extended Heritage models, and the same could be said for those that own anything but Heritage....
  20. I personally would like to see a forum area dedicated specifically to the Heritage speaker line. General discussion, photos, tech/mods, for sale, wanted, etc, etc. I think the audience here is fully large enough to support it. What say you? Would appreciate if Chad and/or other mods would track this discussion.

holy smokes.....don't even want to think about what I paid for mine....!!! Great score.
  23. I have used KitchenAid for years, and love them. Very well built, and roomy. Also quiet.
  24. Without getting into an enormous amount of detail about my listening space, just suffice it to say that it is ok, not great, not terrible, approx. 18 ft. (system wall), by 20 ft. Fair acoustics. Wondering what has been other Belle owners experiences and advice about room placement. Against the wall, off the wall (and how far), toed in or not, etc. etc. Appreciate any offerings. Thanks!
  25. Was wondering if there have been any recent polls (or any) that have asked what folks are listening to in their main music listening room....Heritage/Reference/Other Lines, a mixture, none of the above....etc. Just wondering and interested....I could create a poll here (I think) if appropriate....
