  1. I know of someone in Idaho that has three K-8-K woofers to sell. You might want to call Klipsch parts dept. to get their price, then contact this guy and make an offer. You can e-mail him (her?) at Ruprightcustom@wmconnect.com. Good luck!

It said "A Lude Puts You in the Mood" across the back and had a little white RORER 714 on the front pocket......boy, my parents really loved that one!!

  4. There's an SW-12 powered sub on Ebay that could be a good deal for someone here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5703901345&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 The SW-12 is a really good subwoofer, especially for music. I sold a bunch of them (back in the day) and always felt they were much better than the models that replaced it. They may not play as low as some of the others (28hz), but it will give you the rock-n-roll "thump" in your chest the newer subs can't deliver. An SW-12II went for $168 the other day....it just cracks me up to see that happen, and then see a KSW-12 sell for twice as much. By the way, are there any others here that have heard the SW-12 (and/or SW-12II) compared to the newer Klipsch 12" subs, like the KSW-12 and RW-12? If so, how do you think they stack up?
  5. "My apologies to you Rick, I thought Rock Please was a good stab at your handle." No need to apologize, Thebes, it was a good guess. I'm really glad you got a FREE copy of the fye Blues disc. My favorite tracks are 2,3,8, and 9..... then there's track 7, "That Baby Ain't Black Enough" by Poonanny, that's just too damn funny! BTW, please let me know if you hear a low hz thump in the background on track 3.
  6. That's a great deal. It's hard to believe it was on the B stock page for a week!
  7. So you'll have something to compare to, this pair sold on Ebay for $371.69 without original box or manual. Good luck finding a pair. They're really incredible bookshelf speakers......at any price. Thanks again for your interest.
  8. Sorry, these have already gone to Ebay. They were item # 3094781084 and sold for $406.99. Thanks anyway, Rick.
  9. The fye stores sell music and movies. They have several stores in N. Virginia and West Virginia. You can check their website (www.fye.com) for a location near you. BTW, rckpls is short for my name, Rick Pyles, not Rockplease. I wonder if fye stands for "For Your Entertainment"? Anyway, good luck with finding some new music. Be sure to let us know if you find anything special.
  10. If you have an FYE store nearby, you should try to find their blues sampler disc, volume one. It's one of the "FYE Selects" samplers with Z.Z. Hill, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Johnnie Taylor, Beat Daddys, and others. You may have seen a TV commercial for a blues cd with many of the same songs.....Down Home Blues, Last Two Dollars, Telephone Telephone, etc. Most of the songs are great and the sound quality is amazing. Since you said you like blues, I really think you'd love this cd. Good luck, Rick.
  11. The combination should be a great match. An 80wpc Denon amp has plenty of power for normal volumes.
  12. I've never seen the back of an RF-3II, but some Reference models have red and black plastic "plugs" in the center of the terminals. You have to remove the plastic plugs to insert banana plugs. If yours don't have them, why not just use spades or bare wire?

I have a hard time justifying the extra $160 for the RSW. Opinions please! Cory ---------------- I've never heard the RSW-10, but the RW-12 is no match for your RF-7s.
  14. Whoa....it's been over an hour and Bob's not here yet!? I hope he's OK. You should check your connections, first. If the driver is truly bad, I would suggest you contact Bob Crites, or BEC as he's known here. He sells the replacement parts you need and can do the work if you need him to. Good luck, Rick.

IF you can, how does it affect each subwoofer and/or the reciever? ---------------- Yes. You can use the Y adaptor with no ill effect on receiver or subs. In fact, most people with two subs in an AV system connect them this way.

Should I get the RSX-5's or the RB-25's or maybe even a bookshelf one step up from the 25's (35's?)?? For now, I'll be usin them for the R and L channels hooked up to my ProMedia Ultras. I have the RSX-4's up front now, and I will move them to the back when I get my new mains. I was just curiuous, what would work out better? I want loudness without harshness, and I manly listen to metal and emo. THanks in advance. ---------------- I have a pair of RB-5II speakers on Ebay that you might want to look at. Here's the address: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5702356609&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 Good luck, Rick.

  18. option 3.....get rid of the rs7 and get another pair of rf7s for the surrounds.....
  19. ---------------- On 5/25/2004 12:52:44 AM Juba310 wrote: its an OKay price. I bought mine for around 480 brand new around the same time (more towards christmas). You're not getting a lot of bites on your post because the price isnt so low as to pose a great deal, but it is low enough that if someone were in the market for some nice bookshelves it would really be worth considering. Keep the offer out there, and try some other sites if you dont have success here. ---------------- Thanks for the advice, Juba310. Ovation stores sold these for $900 a pair, so I didn't think $380 for a pair that's 6 months old would be too much to ask. And even though I'm severely under-funded, it would be hard to take less for these things. They really are incredible little speakers.....especially with my SVS subs playing everything below 100hz. I think my problem selling this pair is the mention of scratches. Most people (especially me) will think the worst when a seller mentions cosmetic damage to a cabinet. However, the scratches on these speakers are extremely minor. You need to get close with a lot of light to see them. By the way, I've sold a lot of A/V gear on Ebay. My feedback there is 1022 positives, with 1 negative. I was the seller in over 90% of those transactions, and the one neg came from an crooked seller that's since been kicked off Ebay. I also have an SW-12II subwoofer to sell. Just let me know if anyone needs more info.
  20. That's taking the cola wars a little too far....don't ya think?
  21. There is no mounting hardware included. The scratches are so small they will not show up in the pictures. They're barely visible and can't be seen from more than two feet away. I just feel it's best to mention even the slightest blemish to keep from disappointing anyone. The grilles are in perfect condition and the original receipt, dated 10/15/03 is included.
  22. These were part of a second system with an RC-3II center, RW-12 sub and another pair of RB-5IIs in the back. The system didn't get used as much as we thought it would, so I'm selling it to finance a new Denon DVD player. The other RB-5s sold on Ebay for $406.
