  1. Man....I really thought these would sell here. Maybe a picture will help.
  2. Has anyone heard Bobby "Blue" Bland's recording of "You've Got To Hurt Before You Heal"? Do you hear some extremely loud, low frequency "thumps" in the background?
  3. The problem could be in your receivers (or pre-amp) subwoofer output. If you have a normal pre-amp output (not subwoofer out), try hooking the sub to it. You could also try running your speaker wires to the high-level inputs on the sub.
  4. The green light never comes on? It's time to check your warranty status. Klipsch warrants the amp for two years. ---------------- On 5/21/2004 10:59:33 AM locust284 wrote: Yeah I am using the "auto-on" feature. I checked all the receiver settings and they look fine. I even tried turning it on manually, still nothing. I've played with the sub settings to see if it needed a frequency adjustment or something and no luck. ----------------
  5. If the fuse were blown, the red light wouldn't come on. Are you using the "auto on" feature? If so, the sub will shut off (red light stays on) if there's no low frequency info for 15 minutes....especially at low listening levels. ---------------- On 5/21/2004 9:25:48 AM locust284 wrote: Half way through a movie I noticed that my sub was no longer on (i.e. only a red light). I had assumed that I blew a fuse and that was it. I went to Radio Shack and bought a very similar fuse and installed it. But my sub is still not kicking on the way it is supposed to. I wasn't pushing the sub all that hard when this happened, so I don't think it is blown. Could any of you give me an idea of what's going on? I really don't know too much about this sort of thing. Thanks ----------------

  7. I have another pair of black RB-5II speakers to sell. They were purchased new from an authorized dealer on 10/15/03. These have very light surface scratches on the tops of the cabinets, but everything else looks perfect and performs flawlessly. I think the retail price for a pair of RB-5II speakers is $850/pair, but these were marked $900 at Ovation Audio/Video. You can buy these for $380. The buyer can pick these up in South Point, Ohio or pay shipping from the 45680 zip code. E-mail or call me at 740-377-9432 if you want pictures or more information.....Thanks, Rick.

When did that happen!! .....I need to get a life before it's too late.
  9. CAS, Sorry if this comes across like Brett Farve in a Visa commercial, but I woulda' built a bigger base for those stands. Other than that, they look great and probably helped the sound a lot.
  10. Those are some nice horns! The Belles look like they're just in the way. Would you like for me to haul them off for you!

I hope you're the one that got it!

  15. I have some empty HPM-100 cabinets that need to go somewhere. There are nine or ten of them in my mom's garage and she want's me to get rid of them. The cabinets are all in rough shape.....someone had drilled holes in them and bolted them all together....don't ask me why. I considered patching the holes, painting them black and selling them on Ebay, but it's too much work for me right now. I considered burning them, and actually did burn the two worst ones, but it kills me to trash something that someone might want. Anyway, the cabinets are in South Point, Ohio. That's very close to Huntington, W.Va. and Ashland, Ky. Anyone that wants them will have to pick them up. I will not ship them. Just let me know....... By the way....Happy Mother's Day Mom!!!

Am I better off just bringing it to a certified Klipsch dealer and asking them to repair it, or would they most likely not do that? Would Klipsch repair it if I called them up? Thanks. ---------------- The SW-12 II is a very nice subwoofer. The specs may not match the newer models, but the KSW-12 and RW-12 suck when compared to this classic. I suggest you go here and download a copy of the owner's manual. http://www.klipsch.com/product/product.aspx?Cid=192 Be sure everything is hooked up properly. If it doesn't work, call Klipsch to get an RA number and send it to them. They charge a flat rate of $240 to repair the SW-12 II (last time I checked). I've just recently learned it's worth paying their price, after sending one to a local repair center that said they would fix it "in a few days" for $150. Well, they've jerked me around for over a month with no progress. They told me it was repaired last week, so I drove about 15 miles to their shop, paid the $150 and waited for them to bring it out. Someone came outbout 20 minutes later and said, "We thought we had your woofer fixed, but it started shutting down after it played for a while".......That's exactly the reason I took it in for repair in the first place!!! Anyway....if it's broke, let Klipsch fix it.
  17. Happy Birthday Craig! Have you tried your new Chorus woofer yet?

LFE channel (that infamous ".1") is routed to the subwoofer regardles of all other settings, as long as you have a sub connected to the system. In "LFE" only mode the sub plays A) LFE channel low frequencies below the BM crossover from the speakers that are set to SMALL. In "LFE+Main" mode, the sub plays A) LFE channel B)low frequencies below the BM crossover from the speakers that are set to SMALL and C) low frequencies from the main FR anf FL channels based on the crossover setings. These setting affect the sub playback only. NO additional information (like ".1" for example)is sent to the main speakers no matter whether you selected LFE or LFE+Main mode. ---------------- I just read your post again time and it realized that you are totally correct. I couldn't have said it better myself (obviously).

It specifically says the sub gets both LFE and mains, but it does not say vice versa( the mains actually get the LFE). ??????? how do you know this? The receivers crossover only affects small regardless, I thought thats what the "small" and "large" settings were for was to bypass the crossover for the mains(or any set to "large") if you choose therefore only crossing over the top end of the sub. The LFE comes from the decoding in the DD or DTS does it not? Does Bose take Mastercard? ---------------- "Does Bose take Mastercard?"......now That's FUNNY!! Seriously though, all the info I've provided comes directly from the AVR-1082 owner's manual, page 12. The URL for this manual is: http://www.usa.denon.com/catalog/pdfs/3802_1082%20Eng_Span%20DFU.pdf Just check for yourself. It makes it all so easy to understand.....NOT!!

Sure, they're tall, but the footprint is actually smaller than most "rectangular boxes", so they don't need a lot of floor space. I thought my wife would sh@t when she saw my first 2039, but she actually liked it enough to let me get another one. They are rarely noticed by anyone as they sit in a corner behind a Chorus main speaker.
