  1. This is the only place I know that still has them. Its a little more than your quote above, then again sub-$700 is a superb deal. These are like $899. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-xPAL6gPXstJ/cgi-bin/ProdGroup.asp?c=4&g=10420&s=0&cc=01&search=

That's not true, especially on the RF-7's. They are exceptionally clear - not bright. But they do reveal your electronics and are very sensitive speakers - you feed them well and they sing. You feed them crap and you get crap back -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darren is exactly right, and I think your equiptment will do quite well with Klipsch. Whoever was saying you needed a brighter source like a yammy is going in completely the wrong direction, in my opinion the warmer the better with these speakers. Like Darren said these are very revealing speakers and if you use bright equiptment thats what you get a bright sound, and people who call them bright has probably heard them in that type of setup to be honest. I have changed sources a few times with my KLF 20 and these were my experiences. I am using a Denon 3803(which works well) now which I thought sounded quite similar to the Marantz 7400, I think it was, when I auditioned them. Best of luck.

Who exactly should a seek for this advice? Can you point them in this direction if you run across them? Thanks

  5. hey m00n could you please check out "Room Size" in the HT forum, thanks.
  6. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C) low frequencies from the main FR anf FL channels based on the crossover settings. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bravo, taurus hit it on the head. Now my question to you my good man. Are the mains frequencies ever cut when they are set to "large", in any configuration, say this one I've highlighted above? I may have to cancel my Bose Wave Radio order.
  7. I wouldnt get the DLP unless you are going to be feeding a constant HD source to it. I think the LCD are a much better option.

    Room Size

After seeing all the HT's on here( most I have saved in my favorites, m00n, James Johnson, fatbulldog, ect...) I'm starting to get an itch. I have some extra rooms in my house, but they all seem small. How would a 9' by 11' room fare? My system(pic in odds and mods, under pre upgrade) but with a LCD TV(maybe projector later), components under TV in the TV stand and a single couch or something to sit on(no rows of theater style seats or anything). Is this a possibility? Would it sound ok?
  9. But rckpls, i guess to simply things(hah) the manual only states what affects "do" happen. It specifically says the sub gets both LFE and mains, but it does not say vice versa( the mains actually get the LFE). ??????? how do you know this? The receivers crossover only affects small regardless, I thought thats what the "small" and "large" settings were for was to bypass the crossover for the mains(or any set to "large") if you choose therefore only crossing over the top end of the sub. The LFE comes from the decoding in the DD or DTS does it not? Does Bose take Mastercard?
  10. Ahhhhh, this is to complicated given the manual's literature. Im selling my system and getting a Bose Wave Radio.
  11. No, the fronts always stay the same. The only thing that differs between the two settings is whether the sub gets only the LFE or it gets the LFE plus the mains bass(simultaneouly with the mains).
  12. ok, basically the subwoofer settings LFE and LFE+mains is just that "a subwoofer setting". The only thing this setting controls is whether the sub "also" plays the main channel's low frequencies. Since you have to select large for mains to activate this feature the mains play there full frequency range regardless of "LFE" or "LFE + main" selection(This does not include the "official LFE channel in DD & DTS), their output is never changed unless you select them as small, then the crossover applies its setting (40, 60, 80, 120hz, ect..) and you do not have the LFE choices anyway. So in conclusion, the only way to munipulate the mains is by "large" or "small" settings. If "small" is selected the mains are cut and this is output by the sub. If "large" is selected the mains play full range regardless, because of this choice, and then you have to determine what the sub will play, just LFE or LFE plus the mains frequencies simultaneously with the mains plus any speakers bass set to small. If this is wrong I'm starting a campaign for Denon to issue new versions of their sucky manuals.
  13. I have read tests that show that your center handles 60-80% of the load(depending on the source being played). You definitely need a center and a good center(this CANNOT be stessed enough). Ability to produce wide range of frequency and matched as close to your mains as possible.
  14. I have emailed Denon. They have never responded to me before, but maybe we'll get lucky.
  15. chops is exactly right. my question is, in the manual it seems to suggest that LFE+main is only possible in surround and in 2channel the mains are still crossed over. Does anyone know if the LFE+mains works in both 2channel and surround Modes? or is the 2channel's mains frequency cut no matter what when a sub is selected in the menu?
  16. Do the LFE and LFE+mains modes have the same affect on Movies(surround modes) and 2 channel(cd playback) ?
  17. colterphoto, called the guys in Indy and they gave the same deal. Headed to Indy tomorrow to pick up RF-5s brand new in box for $750. sweeeet -in black they said wood they would have to order and they'd cost more.

Which ones of those are LP and which CDs?
  19. Did you try sending it back to klipsch? they had a recall on the KLF 20 for bad glue. I started having problems with one and sent them both back and they've been great ever since , that must have been 2 1/2 or 3 years ago.
  20. Sorry but this forum seems to have the most activity, and feel I have a better chance getting my question anwsered. How do you resize(make smaller) your pictures that you post?

    Denon 3803

This is what a local hi-fi Store(s) owner wrote me just days ago on pretty much the same subject. I was asking about getting a B&K amp to put with my Denon 3803. $650 is a superb deal on the 3803 by the way, I really like mine and I'm running KLF 20s and a KLF C-7. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello Eric, I presume the Klipsch C-7 is matched to the mains. If so, a three channel would be preferable over a two channel amplifier. If we look at the picture more closely, you must keep in mind that much of what the ampliifer will produce will be from the NAD(CD) to the Denon(receiver)....with the Denon as a preamp. If the purchase of a two channel ampmlifier is for stereo music, then the purchase of any two channel amplifier really does not make good use of your money. For theater or multi-channel music, it is somewhat ok but more planning must be in order. If you want significant improvement in performance now, I would replace the Monster speaker cable with Wireworld. It works much better with Denon..at least it did in the past. If you want better stereo music, a much bigger bang for the buck would come from getting a dedicated CD player. Easy demonstration. I am not sure how well the Denon and B&K will interact either. That is a real wild card play. If your intent is to eventually replace the Denon, my recommendation would be to keep the Denon by itself until you have saved enough to get both the processor and amplifier combination you want. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I also think the receiver upgrade would benefit you better know and then move to the seperates together in the future. Just upgrading the amp will most likely just produce "more" of the yammy sound.

Was Lenard Cohen's "Hallelujah" redone on the Shrek soundtrack?
  23. Ray Garrison. Thats cool, I checked out your link. I actually just left an Executive position at a logistics brokerage firm. We were dealing with fresh produce mostly(long hauls) and some imports by air from Europe to our East Coast ports, getting them through customs and shipped. Best of luck!
