K, Unlike the days of yesteryear...these woofers cannot be re-coned. The anodized aluminum or Ceramitalic cone material can get wrinkled from any number of factors...most common is from mishandling during shippingin which the speakers have usually been dropped.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Best option is to simply replace the woofers from Klipsch parts department.

Jeremy, Could be many factors involved...amp power, source, interconnects, etc. If you purchased from authorized Klipsch dealer, I'd let them check them out for you and if there are any issues, the dealer can obtain warranty replacement parts.

A engineering approved replacement driver for the KG-4's is still available from the Klipsch Parts guys...1-800-554-7724 option 3...will be black color only. The surrounds are a butyel rubber best recommendation is to order a replacement woofer. Good luck with the attempt at repair first...never know until you try.

Rick, That's a lot of speaker for a small 27" tv. The sensitivity rating on the SC-3 is about 97 db which means it (as most Klipsch speakers are) is extremely efficient and if there is "noise" coming from the TV it can transmit into the speaker with such close proximity. If you have any type of shelf below the tv may work best or as you suggested, place the SC-3 on a shelf above the tv.

Aaron, If you purchased the KSW-10 sub new from auth dealer, they will be able to help if you need service. The KSW-10 is no longer manufactured as it was replaced with the new Synergy Series models Sub-10 and Sub-12, which have more powerful BASH digital hybrid amps. I'd suggest returning to the dealer and have them check out the amp to make sure functioning at factory specs. The KSW-10 should "thump" in most small/medium size rooms.

The Klipschorn Style D Decorator's Model would not have included any sides or top...front fascia only, as this was the economy model in theater black or unfinished Douglas fir. I've seen some folks on the Forum who have made some nice looking surrounds to fit these into. Since the Klipschorn is still a production speaker, doubtful if any blueprints are available...at least not from Klipsch direct.

Agree w/ IndyKlipschfan...put em in the garrage...face the speaker "backwards" so the 8- 4.5" drivers are facing out into the garage and whola, you've got a pair of Bose 801's! Not sure what going rate on these 901's...you may call bose tech guys up...they may be able to help?

Do you already have the IW-250's and are trying to find rear channel in-walls? The IW-250's were last manufactured back in 2000. The current model Reference Series R-5800-W is the highest performing in-wall speaker and should offer terrific performance.

yip...this is the function of the Tapered Array. Sound should be ideal at your listening location.

Sorry...no the RF-7 and RF-5 did not go through any re-design and do not use magnetic grills. The Reference III line was expanded a few years back with some more affordable floorstanding models and the bookshelf speakers were expanded and revised (RB-3 and RB-5's were revised). All of the Ref III speakers got a new Tractrix Horn molded into a new front baffle and hey, while we were at it, we started using the really cool magnetic grills. Most any new revision or new speaker model moving forward will most likely have the magnetic grills.

Most of their stuff was sold out-the-door "as-is" or "open box", warts and all (dings, scratches, missing grills, etc.). In some cases, a liquidator took over the stores inventory...liquidator would not be an authorized dealer.

RF-35, The black material you mention being found in your RF-35's would have been gasket material remaining when they punch holes for the square horn lens/tweeter and the round woofers (this gasket is sandwiched between the cabinet and the front baffle). These pieces would have no effect on the performance of your speakers and should not harm the speakers in any way. I would suggest you simply remove it and discard. We have already alerted our quality control and manufacturing group and they have taken corrective measures to make sure that the cut out material from the tweeter and woofer is removed and discarded during the manufacturing process.
