  1. You didn't cause any, that happens on it's on around here. Was it a full moon last night? It is your post and you have every right to keep it on track. I like your high road approach. You keep asking away, and keep us all updated on how you are going to proceed and what you end up with. I did the exact same thing you did, but about 15 years ago and with a vintage McIntosh preamp. Found one in great condition,I had it restored and got many, many great years of enjoyment out of it. It was a very fun and educational process. I'm glad I went that route to get into tube equipment. From there, when I "upgraded" along the way I knew what I preferred, what to listen for etcl. Most importantly it helped me understand what I could hear, and couldn't here, in other equipment and whether it was worth the price. Once you get that integrated you can then start switching out tube brands and see if you can tell the difference between brand X and Y, and if you can, is it worth the cost. If you love the sound the way it is you are golden, if it leads you to want to explore other stuff, that's a great journey too. Glad you posted, sorry there was a little off topic diversion, but glad to see the usual great advice and suggestions.
  2. Completely agree, as well as Great Pyrenees (almost same dog, different color). I have had both, but be ready to be raking hair. In some states insurance companies are allowed to exclude certain breeds. Rotties are usually on that list, but Pit Bulls are at the top. https://www.livescience.com/27145-are-pit-bulls-dangerous.html
  3. How much do the announcers play in whether someone tunes into a game or not? Does anybody remember that game in 80s where they had NO announcers and got higher ratings?
  4. My sister is in pediatrics. They did find one source for whooping cough, Disneyland.
  5. The Commission Report verified there were 6,000 regular army and 6,000 Illinois Natl. Guard. The 12,000 federal troups were in addition to the 12,000 officers at Chicago Police Department had available.
  6. Don't forget the lawyers. The Guild defended many, many protesters and the Mitchell DOJ went after them with a vengence. It all came from the top as evidenced by the White House Tapes. Bill Kunstler was given 4 and 1/2 years on about a dozen citations for contempt after the trial of the Chicago 7. As the documentary mentioned the first night, it was the most divisive time in America since the Civil War.
  7. Did you go to Northeastern? Was her name Donna Gripe? I think I have read everything there is to read on the '68 Convention and the riots, including the Chicago 7 (down from 8) trial transcripts and the Comission transcripts. I still find it one of the most fascinating chapters in American jurisprudence.
  8. Here is the one on hand made in Hope, Arkansas.
  9. "Klipsch is flat frequency response, low distortion, high efficiency and controlled directivity."
  10. That and it has been on the Klipsch FB page for about a year, and it is on the Klipsch FB page for about a year. There is another video posted there under videos that is similar. Matt has done another one that was played during the Transfer Ceremony that is all about the "hand made in Hope" that I think is their best yet. https://www.facebook.com/klipschmuseum/
  11. I had this from a few years ago, one perspective if you want to dig deeper into the post WWII to 50s Era of Indochina. Vietnam_1947-1954.pdf
  12. Which is always good if you don't want to repeat it. Very interesting first night. Views from US policy makers, soldiers on both sides, Vietnam Minh, South Vietnam, pretty balanced thus far. You can stream unedited version on PBS which I liked better.
